Blued steel barrels with ramped beaded brass bead sight and three leaf
(two folding, one standing) rear sight on the matted quarter rib which is marked “W. W. GREENER. MAKER.
68 HAYMARKET. LONDON”, marked “450 EXP. 3 1/4 CASE” and “BULLET 480 GRS.” on the left and right respectively, and chambers with single extractor. The casehardened bolster boxlock action displays attractive floral scroll engraving extending to the toplever, top tang, and trigger guard which also bears a gold inlaid rose. The engraver has signed “J. Kaufmann” on the right side of the trigger guard. The rifle features a set of double triggers, bushed firing pins, and a Greener safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” marking. Stunning, multi-point checkered splinter forend with ebony tip inlay, engraved fittings, including the Deeley latch release, and a gold rose on the shoe. The stock is of the same outstanding quality with matching checkering, shadowline cheekpiece, casehardened grip cap, and leather wrapped recoil pad. Per the consignor, the gun was completed on May 6, 1903, and later refurbished and reregulated by renowned gunsmith and stock maker Glen Morovits. Includes a leather bound takedown case. Length of pull 15 3/8 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored and restocked, retaining 99% blue, coin, and gold finishes with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
