Thunder Valley Machine Co. Gatling Gun with Tripod - Serial no. 52889, 45-70 ,
18 inch part octagon bbl., blue/bright finish. This is a fully functional museum quality reproduction of a Colt Gatling gun chambered in .45-70 Government on a tripod as
manufactured by Thunder Valley Machine Company, bearing resemblance to a Model 1874 “Camel” gun and uses an Accles style drum magazine like a Model 1883. Fitted
with fixed front and elevation adjustable rear sights, and ten exposed barrels. The top of the bronze receiver section has a brass disc that is marked “GATLING’S/BATTERY/ GUN” along with the patent dates and Colt address. The iron frame has Thunder Valley address and the serial number marked on the right. The tripod has an
iron yoke and bronze legs.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 60% plus original blue finish on the barrels with scattered mild
surface corrosion, and the brass exhibits a slightly darkened golden patina with some areas of green verdigris on the magazine. Mechanically excellent.

Desirable Tippmann Arms Co. 1/2 Scale Model 1862 Gatling Gun in .38 Special - Serial no. 008, 38 Special , 19 inch round bbl., blue finish. Manufactured c. 1986-1987 by the Tippmann Arms Co. of New Haven, Indiana as a scaled down version of the famous Model 1862 Gatling gun, the first of many variations. Richard Gatling’s Model 1862 was the first step in a long line of firearms innovation that
eventually led to modern day machine guns. The left side of the frame that joins the receiver and barrel group is marked “MODEL 1862 NO. 008/TIPPMANN ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN
IND.” The receiver is bright brass and the barrels are blued and it is fitted with blade front and notch rear sights. There is an elevation screw at the rear of the mount that joins it to the carriage. It is currently mounted on a two-wheeled
hardwood carriage that is marked “GATLING/GUN” on the front and has mostly black finished iron fittings. Includes a hardwood case containing
a number of bullet sleeves (approximately 128),
a wooden bullet discharge shoot, a total of three 20-round magazines, and a hardwood handle
for adjusting the piece side to side. It measures
 approximately 60 x 40 x 29 inches overall.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% plus original blue on the barrels with some spots of oxidation, minor patination on the brass with minor storage/display evidence. The wood components and
accessories are very fine with scattered scratches, nicks, and overall minor wear. Mechanically excellent. A very desirable scale replica of the legendary Model 1862 Gatling Gun!
