  LOT 3317
Very Scarce Erfurt
“Kl/1933” Marked Luger
Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Holster - Serial no. 183,
9 mm cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue
finish, checkered hardwood grips.
Originally manufactured in the 1910s,
this Erfurt pistol has been refurbished
and stamped “Kl/1933” on top of the
chamber. Theories on the “Kl” stamp
vary; some attribute it as marking for a
guard weapon at a concentration camp
(Konzentrationslager in German), others as
a work mark from the Heer depot at Kassel.
Fixed sights, with the Erfurt marking on
the front toggle link, with the Imperial eagle
stamp on the barrel, receiver and breechblock,
“eagle/6” stamps on the barrel and opposite
side of the breechblock, and a “crown/RC”
revision stamp on the receiver. Overall numbers
are matching, including the grips, with the
barrel and magazine unnumbered and some
components renumbered to match, likely as part
of the rework process. Checkered wood grips
and a wood based nickel finished magazine.
Included with the lot is an unmarked police style
black leather holster with a takedown tool and
a pin punch.
CONDITION: Fine, with 75% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing a brown patina on the gripstraps and sides of the frame, bright edge wear, mild spotting and handling marks. The grips are very good, with some flat spots on the recut checkering. Some tearing and stitching loss is visible on the flap and retention strap, otherwise the holster is good. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 3,500 - 5,000

LOT 3319
Scarce 1936 Dated
German Krieghoff
Luger Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 5309, 9 mm P cal., 3-7/8
inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. This is a very
nice and scarce example of a prewar “Krieghoff” Luger.
This pistol was manufactured in 1936 with an estimated
total production during this year of approximately 9000
pistols. Krieghoff was the primarily supplier to the Luftwaffe during WWII
and they are prized for their fine fit and finish. This top of the pistol chamber is
marked “1936” indicating the year of manufacture and the top of the rear toggle
has the later pattern “H (anchor) K/KREIGHOFF/SUHL”. The left side of the barrel
extension is marked with the serial number and the right side has the three “eagle/ 2” Waffenamt proofs of the Krieghoff factory and the right side of the barrel also has the same “eagle/2” proof. The underside of the barrel has the bore diameter and the correct serial number but of a much smaller size and style numbers. The pistol is finished in a high polish blue with straw colored small parts.
It is fitted with the correct WWII Krieghoff brown checkered plastic grips and one WWII Mauser magazine with nickel body and the aluminum extruded base that is numbered “5757” with a small “eagle/63” Waffenamt stamp.
CONDITION: Near mint as professionally restored with 98% of the finish remaining. Except for a tiny ding on the trigger guard. Almost all of the straw colors remain on the small parts. All of the markings and edges are still clear and sharp with most of the markings highlighted in white. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This is an attractive example of a very professionally restored high quality Krieghoff Luger.
Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Police Holster, and Extra

9 mm cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, hardwood grips.
Fixed sights, with a blank
chamber and front toggle
link, faint Waffenamt proofs on
the barrel and extension (appears
to be DWM’s “WaA66”), and straw

magazine well safeties (the former
in working order, the latter disabled,
as often seen on police Lugers), with
the Prussian-style unit marking “L.Kz.31.”
on the front strap, indicating issue to the rural
police active around Koblenz. Some parts, like the
extension, breechblock, front toggle link, hold-
open and grips are unnumbered, with matching numbers present on other components, including the “2” marked nickel finished alloy base magazine. Included with the lot is a black leather flap holster with “GUSTAV REINHARDT/BERLIN/1933” on the back, takedown tool, and extra magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the blue, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the gripstraps, minor pitting concentrated at the rear of the frame, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. 60% original straw color is present on the takedown lever and ejector, with a gray patina on the other small components.
