LOT 3507
Unique Documented Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistol with
Scarce Special Order .380 ACP Conversion Kit and Box as Pictured in “Savage Pistols” by Bailey Brower Jr. - Serial no. 70366, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4
inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured from 1910-1917,
the Savage Model 1907 was one of the more prolific semi-automatic pocket
pistols of the early 20th century. This example is unique however, in that it was special ordered from Savage with a complete .380 ACP conversion kit. This pistol, along with the kit, are pictured and briefly described on p. 238 of “Savage Pistols” by Bailey Brower Jr. The pistol itself is currently in .32 ACP configuration with the standard two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of the slide. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, and a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. The conversion unit includes a slide with standard .380 ACP/9 mm markings, recoil spring, barrel, breech block, and a “Perfect” pocket oiler. All of the items, including the pistol, are housed in a fitted unmarked black box along with four extra magazines, one marked for .380 ACP.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and strong case color patterns on the trigger with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the leading edges of the slide and frame, and a few scattered patches of light spotting. The .380 ACP slide is a duller finish and shows similar light finish wear. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The remaining accessories are all very good or better with some light wear. The box is very good with some mild wear, some separated corners, and a side panel of the lid absent.

It is fitted with the standard blade and notch sights, grip safety, and checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. Includes a scarce factory box correctly labeled to the gun.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue finish and 80% of the original case colors on the trigger with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey or brown patina, primarily on the trigger and grip safety.
