finish, hard rubber grips.
Manufactured in 1914,
the top of the slide is
marked with the two-line
address, patent date, and
caliber marking, which
lacks the “9MM” notation.
The left of the frame is
marked with the Savage
trademark. The consignor
notes that this is a Model
1907-13 modification No.
1 but falls in the No. 2 range. It is fitted with blade and notch sights and a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. The included factory letter lists shipment on 8 August 1914 to Robert Smith, who was a distributor/dealer in the Boston area. Also includes a correctly labeled factory box.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish and 95% original vibrant case colors on the trigger with some light edge were and a few scattered patches of light spotting. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with significant wear and multiple pieces
detached but included.

hard rubber grips with
Savage logos. The
included factory letter lists
shipment of the pistol on 25 March 1910 to Wolf Sane Hardware Company. Also includes a correctly labeled factory box.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and 75% vibrant case colors on the trigger with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the grip straps and edges. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with significant wear, tears,
and detached pieces.

Savage Model 1917 Semi-
Automatic Pistol with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 232242, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1920,
this is an outstanding example of a first year production Savage Model 1917 pistol. It has the standard two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of
the barrel extension. It is fitted with standard blade
and notch sights, and a pair of checkered hard rubber
grips with Savage logos. The included factory letter lists
a shipment date of 1 June 1920 to Rise and Miller, for
which no address was listed.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original
blue finish with some very light edge wear and a
minuscule patch of light surface oxidation visible on
the right front of the frame. The grips are also excellent
with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.

with Factory Letter - Serial no. 14642,
32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured 1909 with the two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of the barrel extension. It is fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, as well as a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. The included factory letter states that the pistol was shipped on 5 January 1910 to W.H. Hoegee Co. a distributor located in Los Angeles.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original
blue finish and vibrant case colors on the trigger with the
balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina,
primarily on the grip straps and edges. The grips are
excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and
crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

date, and caliber marking on top of the barrel extension. It is fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, as well as a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. The included factory letter states that the pistol was shipped on 31 December 1909 to E.K. Tryon Co., a distributor located in Philadelphia.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original
blue finish and case colors on the trigger with the balance
having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily
on the grip straps and edges at the muzzle. The grips are
excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
