Rare Cased London Armoury Beaumont- Adams Double Action Centerfire Conversion Revolver - Serial no. B6798, 450 cal., 5 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut grips. This is a commercial trade conversion to .450 centerfire of a Beaumont-Adams percussion revolver. An official War Dept. pattern conversion for service revolvers rather than the common military issue pattern in the “List of Changes.” It has a blued octagonal barrel with a blade front sight and is fitted with a cartridge extractor rod housed within a blued tube to the right side. The blued frame’s top strap is signed “LONDON ARMOURY” and has a hinged loading gate. The walnut butt has bold multi-point checkering and a casehardened cap. The revolver is marked with London black powder proof marks. It comes in a fitted oak case lined in green baize with a pewter oiler, cleaning rod, and case key. CONDITION: Fine. The revolver retains 95% of the period reblued finish throughout and has a prominent drag line to the cylinder. The frame markings are rubbed. The blued finish on the trigger guard has flaked, and the casehardened finish on the butt cap has faded and mottled. The butt retains sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good and has light age related storage marking. The lining remains good. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,250

Very Rare Cased Tranter Patent “M.1868” Double Trigger Centerfire Revolver - Serial no. 61545, 450 cal., 4 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Examples of Tranter cartridge revolvers with the double action “double trigger” mechanism are very scarce
with this revolver either being a factory special order
or possibly a post-production conversion. The blued frame is standard 2nd Pattern “M.1868” with the ejector rod housed in the cylinder arbor and is marked “W. TRANTER’S PATENT” on the left side and has a hinged loading gate on the right side. The octagonal barrel features a blade front sight, and the top strap is grooved forming the rear sight. The whole is lightly engraved with border lines, a rosette surrounding a screw, and

hammer safety and hinged loading gate. Blued cylinder with
roped banding. Figured walnut spurred butt with multi-point checkering and
casehardened cap with lanyard loop. Birmingham black powder proof marks. In fitted mahogany case lined in green baize with one compartment with lid and a cartridge tray.
CONDITION: Fine. The revolver retains 75% original blue finish throughout. The butt has minor scattered age related storage and handling blemishes and retains sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with light age related storage marking. The lining remains very good. Estimate: 1,500 - 2,750

CONDITION: Fine. The revolver retains 60% original plated finish throughout. The barrel, butt cap, and areas of the frame have shallow pitting. The butt has some age related staining and minor storage and handling blemishes and retains sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with light age related storage marking. The lining remains very good.

     a band of stylized foliage at the muzzle. The one-piece walnut butt has multi-point checkering. The revolver has Birmingham black powder proof marks. It is in a fitted oak case lined in blue baize. The case has one compartment with a lid and a cartridge tray and contains a glass oiler, turnscrew, and cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Very good. The revolver retains 25% original blued finish on the frame. The remaining surfaces have a mixture of discolored patina and light surface pitting. The grip has minor age related storage and handling blemishes and some minor staining and retains well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is also very good and has age related storage marking, some age staining, and the central lid escutcheon missing. The lining also remains very good.

no. 5984, 450 cal., 5 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut grips. With blued octagonal barrel, blued
frame marked “TRANTER’S PATENT” on the left side and with
grooved top strap forming the rear sighting, sprung firing pin,
hinged loading gate and cylinder with roped banding. The
underside of the barrel with full length non-retracting swing
out cartridge extractor rod not housed in the cylinder arbor
pin and marked “TRANTER’S PATENT” at the base. Walnut butt
with multi-point checkering and casehardened cap. Border
and scroll engraved throughout. Birmingham black powder proof marks. In fitted mahogany case lined in green baize, the lid with Robert Jones trade label. With Dixon pewter oiler, turnscrew and cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Very good condition. The revolver retains 60% original blued finish throughout. The front sight blade is missing, and the sprung firing pin is incomplete. The butt has minor scattered age related handling blemishes and retains well-defined checkering. Mechanically very good. The case is very good with light age related storage marking. The lining also remains very good.
