Blued steel barrels with blade front and flip up rear sight on the matted solid rib, 2 1/2 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constrictions of .015/.029 inches. The casehardened hammer back action displays scrollwork engraving surrounding “H. SCHERPING” and “HANOVER” banners on the left and right of the action respectively. The gun features rebounding hammers, locking bars, double triggers (front is a single set), and tang mounted barrel
selector. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and steel buttplate. Length of pull 14 1/2 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 75% original blue finish 50% case colors, scattered areas of light oxidation, mild handling evidence, and mostly crisp checkering with some worn sots. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid W. J. Wurz Pinfire Double Cape Gun with Extra Barrel Set - NSN, 16 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Damascus steel barrels with single bead sight on the smooth solid rib which is marked “W. J. Wurz in Frankfurt a.m.” in gold and a pair of gold bands at the breeches and muzzles. The casehardened hammer back action displays four game scenes on the left, right, underside, and trigger guard all surrounded by floral scroll. Beautifully figured forend with “A.K” inscription shield and stock
with large cheekpiece and steel buttplate. Includes a second barrel set of 25
1/4 inch cape gun barrels with a 16 gauge shotgun and an unknown .52 caliber centerfire round.
CONDITION: Very good with a smooth brown patina on the barrels, grey patina on the action and locks, nearly all gold remaining, moderate handling evidence, and worn but well-defined checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500

engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, trapdoor cartridge compartment, and steel buttplate. Length of pull 13 11/16 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 10 oz.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish, traces of case colors in the protected areas, and mild handling evidence. The stock is cracked at the wrist but appears stable; otherwise, the wood is very good with some dings and scratches and mostly well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The gun features rebounding hammers, double triggers, flip up rear sight, and tang mounted barrel selector. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and
pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, trapdoor cartridge compartment, and horn buttplate and grip cap. Length of pull 13 11/16 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 10 oz.

Eberwein Cape Back Action Hammer Gun with Relief Carved Stock - NSN, 16/11mm gauge, 27 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Blued Guss Stahl barrels with a small blade front and fixed rear sight on the smooth solid rib which is marked “J. Eberwein, Regensburg”, gold band and flourish inlaid at the breech, and a single extractor for the chambers. The casehardened hammer back action displays bird and dog scenes on the left and a boar and stag on the right all surrounded by leafy scroll. The gun features non-rebounding hammers and double triggers (front is a single set). Beautifully figured checkered and floral carved
forend and straight grip stock with large horn pistol grip and steel buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, showing an attractive smooth brown patina on the barrels, attractive grey coloration to the action and locks, and mild handling evidence. The forend is missing a few chips; otherwise, the wood is fine with some dings and scratches and mostly crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
