Factory Engraved
 W. J. Jeffery & Co. Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle in .475 Nitro Express - Serial no. 13131, 475 express cal., 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight, four leaf (one standing, three folding) rear sight on the raised rear quarter rib, London nitro proofs, and chambers with ejectors. The barrels are marked “W. J. JEFFERY & Co.” and “13. KING STREET. St. JAMES’S. LONDON.” on the left and right respectively. The casehardened boxlock action displays extensive scroll engraving surrounding “W. J. Jeffery & Co.” banners on either side with scroll continuing onto the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the rotary lever latch release, and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, “JCR” in the inscription oval, raised cheekpiece grafted on, and rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches (cast-off ). Weight 11 lbs. 14 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 98% plus reapplied blue on the barrels with some pitting underneath on the left towards the breech, flashes of original case colors on the action with a silver patina on the balance, silver patina on the trigger guard, and mild handling evidence. The reoiled wood is also fine with a few minor marks, discolored grip cap, and overall sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 10,000 - 15,000

W. J. Jeffery & Co. Boxlock Double Rifle in .450/400 Nitro
Express - Serial no. 11862, 450/400 N.E. 3” cal., 25 inch solid rib
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1903 according to page 118
of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers Volume One: London”. Blued steel chopperlump barrels
with a ramped beaded blade front sight with flip-up moon bead, four leaf (one standing, three
folding) rear sight on the raised rear quarter rib, standard Birmingham nitro proofs for a 400 grain bullet over 60 grains of
cordite, and chambers with extractor. The barrels are marked “W. J. Jeffery & Co. 13. KING St.” and “St. JAMES St LONDON. S.W.” on
the left and right respectively. The casehardened boxlock action is unadorned aside from “W. J. Jeffery & Co.” marked on either side. The
rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with an Anson button release and pistol grip stock with blue grip cap, blank inscription oval, and serrated bare butt. Length of pull 14 5/16 inches (cast-off ). Weight 10 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% professionally reapplied blue and casehardened finishes with light handling evidence, some minor oxidation in the case colors, and a dented trigger guard. The left side of the wrist shows a professional repair with a new piece of wood inlet and recheckered. Otherwise the wood is very fine as restored with a few dings and scratches, browned patina on the grip cap, and crisp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent.
