Factory “JLuarle” Signed and Engraved AYA No. 1 Deluxe
Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 110-04, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured in 2004. Blued steel chopperlump barrels with single steel bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked “AYA-
   AGUIRRE & ARANZABAL - MADE IN SPAIN”, light engraving at the breech, import mark
under forend, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished hand
detachable sidelock action displays scrolling leafy designs over a nicely contrasting matted
background. The gun is signed on the triggerplate “Jluarle” to the right of the trigger for
an unknown, but clearly talented, engraver. The gun features bushed firing pins, dual
triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Highly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Anson button release, and straight grip stock with
teardrop flats, blank inscription oval, and checkered bare butt. Included is a wood and leather takedown
case with brass name plaque to a previous owner, cleaning tools, and nickel snap caps, oiler, and jar. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.5mm (.728 inches) and measured .731/.732 inches; choke constriction .010/.019 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.030 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 11 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with limited handling evidence. There is a
small crack off the back of the left lockplate, otherwise the wood is very fine with a few minor marks and sharp chec good. Mechanically excellent.

blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a
bead front sight, two position folding rear sight on the raised matted quarter rib, single
band of engraving at either breech, 1983 dated Spanish proofs, import mark under
forend, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished self-opening
hand detachable sidelock action displays extensive floral scroll engraving with matted
negative space surrounding factory markings on either lockplate and the underside. The gun
features bushed firing pins, double triggers, gold center cocking indicators, and automatic tang safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with tear drop flats, “MWK” in the gold inscription oval, and leather covered recoil pad. Included is an extra set of matching numbered 27 inch 12 gauge shotgun barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers and a gold “1” and retailer signature “ESPECIALLY MADE FOR J. ROBERTS & SON KING ST. LONDON” on the rib. Also included is a factory takedown case with the guns specifications on the interior lid. Barrel measurements for the extra barrel set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .731/.732 inches; choke constriction .010/.013 inches; minimum wall thickness .025/.024 inches. Blued steel barrels with a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, import mark under forend, and proof date of 1950. The coin finished sidelock action shows floral scroll engraving with relief carved oak leaves on the fences. The gun features double triggers (front articulated), bushed firing pins, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and Anson button release, and pistol grip stock with ventilated rubber recoil pad. Includes a second 28 3/8 inch 12 gauge barrel set with matching number and 2 3/4 inch chambers and later (1983) proofs. Barrel measurements for extra set: bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.5mm (.728 inches) and measured .730/.732 inches; choke constriction .020/.037 inches; minimum wall .024/.027 thickness inches.
