Exquisite One-of-One Brian Powley Master Engraved American
Pistolsmiths Guild 2020 Member Collaboration Model 1911 Semi-
Automatic Pistol with Holster - Serial no. APG-2020, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Created as a collaboration of the greatest minds
in custom 1911s to be the crem-de-la-crem of what the American Pistolsmiths
Guild can do. Bringing together eleven world class smiths, this pistol perfectly
marries the artistry and functionality of America’s favorite sidearm. The slide features
a heavy chamfer at the bottom of both sides, ball cut at the muzzle, KC Custom Creation Battle Axe roll trigger hammer
and rear face serration to match the set of Richard Heinie’s Slant Pro sights. Installed in the slide is a match grade barrel
from Daniel Bachelor. Both sides of the slide display beautiful open scroll engraving within zigzag outlined panels and the guild seal at the rear on the right side hand cut by Brian Powley. The engraving continues on to the frame where the side
flats are embellished with the same open floral scroll as the slide in simple line borders with a fan motif in the trigger guard dish, cross hatches on the bow, and a sunburst below the ambidextrous safety. The frame features checkered front strap and flat mainspring housing with integral flared magazine well, and beavertail memory pad safety. A set of wonderfully figured, diagonally half checkered walnut grips are installed with engraved bushing screws. The whole of the gun has been masterfully blued finished in an illustrious Doug Turnbull blue finish with satin edges and polished sides. Included with this one-of-a-kind pistol is a Del Fatti leather brown leather holster with black elephant accents and two matching magazine carriers as well as a American Pistolsmiths Guild challenge coin.
CONDITION: Excellent as built by the American Pistolsmiths Guild, retaining 99% plus original Doug Turnbull blue finish with
limited handling marks concentrated on the chamber hood, crisp engraving and grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is excellent. The opportunity to own a pistol worked on by the best of the best in custom 1911s doesn’t often come along. This would make a great addition to any collection!
