David Wade Harris Signed Custom Engraved and Gold Inlaid First Generation
Colt Single Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 351788, 45 LC cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/gold finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1928 and
subsequently embellished by noted engraver David Wade Harris. Harris is best known for his cattle brand engraving and was taught the art of cattle brand engraving by Weldon Bledsoe, who had in turn learned the art from Cole Agee, the originator of the cattle brand engraving. 75% of the surface features Harris’ engraving which
consists mostly of floral scrollwork on a punch dot background. Fan patterns decorate the recoil shield, loading gate, and top of the back strap. The backstrap features a checker and dot motif. Most of the metal wears blue finish, with the exception of the extractor, hammer, trigger shoe, screws and other small components which are gold plated.
There is also gold inlaid outline bordering the bottom of the frame, the front edges of the cylinder, and around the rear and front portions of the barrel. The butt is signed “DW HARRIS.” The barrel is marked with the one-line Colt
Hartford address on top, the left side is marked “45 COLT,” and the frame is marked with the two-line patent dates followed by a Rampant Colt. The frame and grip frame share matching serial numbers, and the loading gate has the assembly number “1293.”
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished by David Wade Harris, with over 98% blue finish and gold plating across all the metal components. The blue finish is rich and deep, complemented by the crisp engravings and contrasted against the gold plated highlights. The grips are fine, with a small chip located on the bottom interior of the left side panel. Mechanically fine.

Attractive John Adams Jr. Signed Master Engraved and Silver Plated Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver with Pearl Grips and Case - Serial no. 288620, 32 WCF cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., silver finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1907 and subsequently engraved by Master Engraver John Adams Sr., who signed the underside of the frame with “J. Adams.” The revolver was engraved in L. D.
Nimschke style floral coverage and silver plated by Adams & Adams Custom Engravers. The left side of the barrel is marked “(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F.” while the top has the two line manufacturer information. The bottom
of the frame, trigger guard, and grip frame have matching serial numbers. The loading gate has the
 assembly number “281.” Fitted with pearl grips, each grip panel is marked “414” on the inside. The included wood case features a velvet interior, an integral cartridge holder for 18 rounds (cartridges not included), and
a covered section which contains a brass key.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished by John Adams Sr. with 98% plus of the silver plating with some scattered areas of discoloration. The engraving is crisp and speaks to a high level of skill from the engraver. The grips are very good with some chipping mostly near the frame and a few stress lines. Mechanically fine. The case is very fine with a few handling
marks on the exterior and minimal wear on the velvet interior. The lock of the case does not work with provided key. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

Stunning Master Engraved and Gold Inlaid Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 25362, 41 RF cal., 3 1/2 inch
round bbl., blue/gold/brass finish, highly figured walnut grips. Approximately 48,000 of the 3rd Model Derringers were manufactured c. 1870-
1912. This example was sent through Colt’s London Agency and has London proofs and beautiful and extensive custom scroll engraving, a gold inlaid band at the muzzle,
a silver blade front sight, gold inlaid “-COLT-” marking on top of the barrel, and “41 CAL” and “C/ Rampant Colt” on the left side of the frame.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as elaborately custom embellished with 98% plus of the niter blue finish on the barrel and trigger, bright gold inlays, some minor pitting on the breech face of the barrel, strong original case colors on the hammer, aged patina on the frame and
crisp engraving. The grips are very fine and have minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine.
