Jerry Harper Signed Engraved Colt Third Generation Single
Action Army Revolver with Holster Rig - Serial no. S47528A, 45 LC cal., 4
3/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, smooth grips. Manufactured in 2008 and
later engraved by Engraver Jerry Harper. The barrel features a zig zag band
at both ends with floral scroll engraving stretching nearly the whole length, ribbons surrounding the barrel markings, and an engraved front sight. The ejector housing also features a floral scroll motif as well as a zig-zag pattern
on top. Nearly the entire surface of the frame displays floral scroll engraving
with a punch dot background, dot and checkering pattern below the
loading gate, floral burst on the ejector bump, and leafy motif. The hammer features an eagle head motif on either side with intertwining lines and a starburst on top as well as a checker and dot motif on the rear. The cylinder shows floral flourishes between the cylinder flutes, and a band of leafy engraving

Highly Attractive J. Adams Signed, Master Engraved, Gold and Silver Colt Single Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 89328SA, 45 LC cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., silver/gold finish, smooth grips. Manufactured in 1977 and subsequently professionally custom embellished. The hammer, cylinder and ejector rod housing are gold finished, the trigger, screws, cylinder pin and release are niter blue and the remaining parts are silver plated. The sides of the front sight, barrel, frame, cylinder flats,
         trigger guard and back strap are engraved with Class “C” floral scroll engraving with
a punch dot background. In addition there is a decorative border around the muzzle, a feather design on the top of the ejector housing and top strap, star burst on the front of the ejector housing and frame, a decorative border around the rear of the cylinder and a scalloped border panel on the back strap. The sides of the hammer have an eagle motif. The front of the frame is signed by the engraver “J. ADAMS”. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45” in a panel on the left side, two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. The revolver comes with the John J. Adams Sr. receipt dated 6-13-05 verifying that serial number 89328SA Colt SAA 45 7 1/2” was “C”+ engraved, gold and silver finished with fire blue screws and confirms the grip material. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished by Master engraver John J. Adams Sr., with 99% plus silver plating remaining beginning to darken with age in the area of the trigger guard and front strap. The cylinder and ejector housing retain all of the gold finish and the hammer retains 98% gold finish with some minor flaking and dulling on the back. 99% bright niter blue remains on the small parts. The grips are as new. The engraving and markings remain sharp. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Joe Marlin Hilliard Collection. Estimate: 5,500 - 8,500

Ray Swan Signed Engraved Colt
Diamondback Double Action Revolver
- Serial no. D25555, 22 LR cal., 2 1/2 inch
vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1965 and subsequently engraved by Ray
Swan. The barrel, frame, and cylinder display 80% coverage
floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background. The
bottom of the barrel lug is signed “C ENGR BY (illustration of a
swan)”. Fitted with blade front and adjustable rear sights as well as a
set of checkered walnut grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as engraved by Ray Swan, retaining 99% plus
professionally refinished blue finish with an attractive plum hue on the barrel and crisp engraving. Grips are also very fine with a few minor
dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
at the rear. The back strap and trigger guard are engraved with floral scroll motifs with intertwining lines at the center of the back strap. The revolver is signed on the right side of the trigger guard under the grip. Included with the pistol is a Madison Saddlery floral tooled gun belt and holster.
CONDITION: Excellent overall as engraved by Jerry Harper, retaining 99% nickel finish with limited handling marks, and crisp engraving, and grips with an attractive coloration. Mechanically excellent. Holster rig is excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
LOT 516
Ben Shostle Signed Master
Engraved Antique Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver
- Serial no. 8116, 44-40 WCF cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., bright
finish, smooth grips. Manufactured in 1882 and subsequently
engraved by Master Engraver Ben Shostle. The barrel features a wavy
line at the muzzle and a band at the frame with a spray of deep cut floral
scroll and punch dot background coming from the rear band. The floral
motif and rear band extend onto the ejector rod housing with a starburst
at the center. The frame, cylinder, and back strap are engraved with the
same floral scroll motif with wavy lines at the rear of the cylinder and on the top strap as well as a feathered flourette on the side plate. The lower left side of the frame is signed “Shostle”. Included with the revolver is a Ben Shostle Arms Engraver certificate listing the revolver as having been commissioned by Tree Many Feathers on January 5, 1995.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as engraved by Master Engraver Ben Shostle with a
few handling marks, some scattered spots of pitting (heavier in the cylinder flutes),
crisp engraving, and two hairline stress lines coming off the screw eyelets on the
attractively colored grips. Mechanically excellent.
