with a beaded blade front sight, flip-up rear sight, Remington factory markings including the “Model 12-F. Special” marking on the top flat, and five

The left scene shows a trio of dogs running a hare in a field with one of the dogs climbing through a fence line, the right side shows a smaller scene of a pair of squirrels eating nuts on a tree branch, and the top scene has a dog with a woodcock in his mouth. All three scenes are cut in fine high detail. Nicely figured, fancy checkered
forend and pistol grip stock with Remington grip cap, blank inscription oval, and engraved Remington crescent buttplate. These F Grade guns were the finest put out by Remington with their extensive beautiful engraving and high grade wood, and this fine rifle is no exception; it is truly a work of art. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with slight plum coloration in the barrel and magazine tube, extensive light oxidation scattered on the
barrel, noticeable slide retraction wear, and light handling evidence. The refinished wood is fine with an applied coat of varnish, a few dings and scratches, and overall sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,500 - 9,500
The blued receiver shows more of the beautifully cut floral scroll engraving over a punch-dot background surrounding six separate relief gold inlaid game scenes and a hand cut serial number on the left. The game scenes consist of a mallard in a pond scene, a pair of pointers in a field, and a woodcock in a forest on the left, and a pheasant over a field, a pair of pointers in a field, and a grouse in flight on the right side. There is also a non-gold inlaid bust of a setter on the trigger guard.
