Eagle in Flight

Eagle in Flight by
S. David. This eagle
has its wings spread and
ready to rest on the tree trunk base below him. The eagle
has silvered head and tail with polished beak and claws. The tree trunk tripod base
has wood bark running through out the tree and
is signed on the base “S. David”.
This eagle is very large and measures 50x33x67 inches and weighs approximately
155 lbs. This
would make a great
outdoor sculpture
as it is practically life size showing all the features
a live eagle will show.
CONDITION: Very good with a few storage and handling marks and an attractive patina.

Two Mighty Lion Statues - Huge, mighty, magnificent pair of lions, each resting on a globe. These French faux bronze statues show the power of how England and France ruled almost the entire world in the 19th century. The dominum supreme. The lions display
a full mane of
hair circling their
faces which look
outward as they
sit on top of the
earth resting
on all paws. The
globe shows the
outline of several
continents. A
truly dramatic
representation
and ideal for each side of an entrance to
show the power of the owner. Measurements 20x20x64 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent with a few minor storage and handling marks and an attractive patina. Estimate: 4,000 - 7,500
LOT 1265
Themis Goddess of Justice by Mayer -
This great courtroom judicial bronze statue is signed “Mayer” (Eduard Mayer French, 1812-1881) on the back of the bronze. The statue shows the blindfolded Themis with one arm up holding the scales of Justice and the other arm is downward holding the sword which is encircled by a serpent. Themis is resting one foot on the ground and the other on top of the serpent’s head which she has pinned between herself and a book. Highly decorative classical cloak fits her entire body. She rests on circular bronze plinth. The statue measures 13x23x56 inches and weighs 104 lbs. CONDITION: Very fine with some storage and handling marks and an attractive patina. A great statue for a lawyer’s office or a courtroom. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,500
LOT 1267
Colt at Water Pump by Shrady - This classic Americana Western bronze shows a colt getting water from a bucket that is resting beneath a water pump. The colt is standing with
all four feet
on the ground
and his head
bowed to fetch some water to quench
its thirst. The pump is a 19/20th century
outdoor style. The bronze is signed Shrady
(Herman Merwin Shrady AM 1871-1921)
on the pump and the colt. The pump
are not attached to each other. The colt
measures 46x16x39 inches. The water
pump measures 35x14x37. Both parts
weigh 120 lbs. One could turn the water
pump into a fountain as it is equipped for water hose attachments. CONDITION: Very good with some storage and handling marks and an attractive patina. This
would make the perfect
addition to any farm or
ranch.

Bald Eagle with Fish by James Sears - This wonderful bronze depicts the greatest symbol of the United States, the bald eagle, as it swoops away from a successful hunt. The eagle is depicted with its
full wingspan on display
and a fish clutched
in its talons. The work is
signed “JAMES/SEARS”
on the water. The bronze
measures 16x2x33
inches. Included with the
statue is a wooden table
measuring 22x34x41 1/2
inches.

Old Man Winter Bronze by Vic Payne with Certificate of Authenticity - This wonderful bronze tells the story of the origins of “Old Man Winter”. The original legend is that of a Native American war
chief who annually stormed his way down from the north bringing the cold whipping winds and snow with each
    step as he chased
the Thunderbird
south. This bronze depicts that war chief on his ride adorned in full war dress with a bison head dress. Clenched in Old Man Winter’s hands is a bison skull from which frost and snow are coming to cover the land. His mighty horse
is shown in full stride as each step throws snow into the air off the ground. Several aspects of the bronzes decoration have been painted in vibrant reds and blues. The artist’s signature is on the ground to the right of the horse and rider. The statue measures 36x23 1/2x38 inches. Includes a wooden display table with a brass plaque on the front with the story of Old Man Winter that measures 27x46x39 inches, a letter from Mountain Trails Galleries giving the measurements for the sculpture, and a Certificate of authenticity. CONDITION: Excellent with a few storage and handling marks and an attractive patina. Table is very fine with some storage and handling marks. Estimate: 8,000 - 12,000
