Very Attractive Antique Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Takedown Rifle with Deluxe Style Bird’s Eye Maple Stock - Serial no. 131482, 25-20 M cal., 24 inch part octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, maple stock. Manufactured in 1895, this Marlin Model 1894 rifle was subsequently professionally upgraded to a very attractive, special order deluxe style configuration. The part octagon barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent dates and the caliber marking on the top flat. The model designation is marked on the upper tang and the
serial number is marked on the lower tang. It is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade front sight, filler in the rear dovetail, and a Lyman tang mounted peep sight. It is mounted with a very attractively figured, bird’s eye maple forearm and pistol grip stock, which both have deluxe style checkering. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as professionally upgraded to its current configuration, retaining 98% plus of the blue and casehardened finishes with a few scattered very light handling marks and the caliber marking slightly softened. The replacement wood is near new with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A very attractive Model 1894 rifle! Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500

Attractive Documented Antique Marlin Semi-Deluxe Style Model 1893 Lever Action Takedown Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 124278, 38-55 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1895, this rifle is in an attractive semi-deluxe configuration. The top barrel flat is marked with the standard two-line address and patent dates, and the caliber marking is at the
breech. The model marking is on the upper tang, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade front sight, elevation adjustable notch rear sight, and a tang mounted long range peep sight. It is mounted with
a very nicely figured, single diamond pattern checkered forearm and a checkered pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter lists the
rifle in takedown configuration and .38-55 caliber, with a 26 inch octagon barrel and a pistol grip stock when shipped on 29 July 1895. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored, retains 98% plus of the blue finish and 95% of the vibrant case colors with a few scattered light handling marks. The wood is also very fine with some scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
LOT 1063 Excellent Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide Action Rifle - Serial no. 88440, 32-20 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, highly figured walnut stock. The late, post-1898 production Lighting was the first slide- action rifle Colt produced and was intended to be the companion piece to the Colt SAA revolvers in the same calibers. This rifle features a brass blade front sight, adjustable standard sporting rear sight, and tang peep sight. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address and the ‘83, ‘85, ‘86 and ‘87 patent dates ahead of the rear sight as well as “32 cal” in front of the receiver.
The receiver is marked with the Rampant Colt on the left side. The slide handle is checkered. Plain straight grip stock with a standard crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrel retains 95% of the thinning original blue, the magazine tube has a smooth brownish patina. The receiver retains 85% of the bright original finish with some wear on the underside and high edges. The trigger guard has a mix of original blue and smooth brown patina on the rear portion and almost all of the original finish on the front portion. The buttplate is a mix of blue finish and smooth gray patina. The wood is very fine, with the exception of a 4 inch scratch on the right side of the stock. There are minimal marks and crisp checkering. All markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500
LOT 1064 Antique Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide Action Saddle Ring Carbine - Serial no. 78222, 44-40 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1895. The barrel has a raised blade front sight, a folding ladder rear sight, and the two-line Colt Hartford legend stamped on top ahead of the rear sight. London proofs are stamped on the left side of the barrel and receiver. The receiver is stamped with a Rampant Colt and fitted with a saddle ring, all on the left side. The serial number is stamped on the lower tang. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance and the high points of the buttplate worn to a smooth gray. The wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,750
LOT 1065 Antique Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide Action Rifle - Serial no. 1095, 38-40 WCF cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1894. German silver blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on the barrel with the two-line Colt Hartford legend. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a Rampant Colt. It is mounted with a checkered slide handle. The period non-factory replacement checkered buttstock is fitted with a black serrated shotgun buttplate. CONDITION: Fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 80% original blue finish faded to a plum tone. There are a couple patches of pitting on the magazine. The frame retains 70% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance, smooth gray patina on the tangs, and some pitting on the right side. The period replacement wood is also fine with some minor dings and scratches, crazed finish, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
