LOT 3281 Unique Silver Mounted Spanish Small Scale/Boy’s Miquelet Sporting Gun - NSN, 45 cal., 26 3/8 inch octagon bbl., bright/silver finish, walnut stock. The smoothbore barrel has a silver muzzle trim, and the forend cap, barrel bands, side plate, trigger guard, and heel plate are also silver. The lock has some light engraving, an illegible maker’s name, and “in Madrid” on the lower bevel. The stock is the classic Madrid form. The trigger has a “see no evil” monkey design. CONDITION: Very good with silver-gray patina and mild pitting on the lock and barrel, aged patina on the silver, and general mild overall wear. The refinished stock is also very good and has some minor gaps at the breech, a chip at the barrel tang, and general mild marks and scratches. The half-cock needs work, but the lock otherwise functions fine. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
13 1/4 inches. The stock is decorated with raised relief floral carving. CONDITION: Fine overall with attractive aged patina on the silver, dark brown patina on the lock and barrel, traces of original gold, and moderate overall wear. The stock is also fine and has mostly distinct carving, the noted added section, deteriorated pad, faint cracks and repairs, and mild dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.

LOT 3282 Engraved, Silver Mounted, and Relief Carved LePage Marked Flintlock Sporting Gun - NSN, 54 gauge, 30 1/2 inch part octagon bbl., unknown/gold/silver finish, walnut stock. The smoothbore barrel has “Le Page Paris” in raised
relief on top of the breech section along with raised relief scroll, floral, and classical martial designs with gold highlighting. The furniture is silver and has cast and engraved floral and hunting themed designs. The buttplate has three hallmarks: “crown/S,”
a triangular mark, and a profile of a head facing left. The first two marks are also inside the trigger guard bow. The wrist escutcheon has a royal crest. The rounded lock has a non-bridled pan and is signed “Le Page AParis.” The gun appears to have been originally built for a boy or woman and has a padded comb and an added 4 1/8 inch section to the butt bringing the length of pull for to

Engraved and Silver Inlaid French Style Double Barrel Flintlock Shotgun - NSN, 20 gauge, 32 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., brown/bright/silver finish, walnut stock. This early 19th century French style double barrel shotgun has a silver blade front sight, “EX” on top of the barrels at the breech, “MP” and some additional unclear markings (“HI”?) on the bottom of the barrels at the breech, bright locks with frizzen spring rollers, scroll and floral engraving on the bright finished furniture, silver wire inlays, interesting raised panels of checkering on the forend and wrist, and a silver wrist escutcheon inscribed with an ornate monogram.
CONDITION: Very good with a mix of dark brown patina and period refurbished brown finish on the barrels, aged patina on the silver, mostly bright locks and furniture, and generally mild age and storage related wear. The revarnished stock is also very good and has some slivers of silver wire absent, small chips and repairs mainly around the left lock, distinct checkering, and mild scratches and dings. F. Baader Gold Inlaid Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun - Serial no. 4, 16 gauge, 30 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., brown/gold/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Franz Xaver Baader (1801-1864) was a gunmaker in Munich starting c. 1830. The rib is marked in gold “.F. BAADER IN MUNCHEN.” and is fitted with a silver bead front sight. The underside of the breech plugs have “4” which is also repeated on the bottom of the right barrel and on the upper tang. The underside of the left barrel has “BISSUISSE” and an oval Liege proof. The locks are marked “F. BAADER” (right) and “IN MUNCHEN” (left) in gold. “3079” and “4” are hand-written on the forend under the barrel. The stock has checkering on the forend and wrist, a carved wood trigger guard with scroll grip extension, large cheek rest, and a 13 7/8 inch length of pull. CONDITION: Very fine with bright gold markings, 60% plus original casehardened and brown finish, distinct Damascus patterns along the barrel, surface oxidation concentrated on the buttplate, and general mild overall wear. The stock is fine and has crisp checkering, mild dings and scratches, a few minor hairline cracks, and light overall wear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
