Auto-Ordnance/Savage Model 1928 Thompson
Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA C&R Fully
Transferable Machine Gun with Accessories - Serial
no. S-18188, 45 ACP cal., 10 1/2 inch fluted bbl., matte
black finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured by Auto-
Ordnance using a number of “S” marked components,
including the receiver and barrel. Blade front sight on
the Cutts-marked compensator and folding ladder rear
sight, with the signature ribbing on the rear of the barrel
dual pistol grips, and a quick detach buttstock. The model and caliber markings are present
on the left side of the frame, with the Auto-Ordnance address and patent dates on the right. The trigger housing is numbered to match the receiver, with checkered selector and safety switches. The internals are 1928 pattern, with the thin, light recoil spring, Blish lock, and oiler. Included with the lot are two 50-round Type “L” drum magazines, twenty-eight stick magazines, one drum pouch, one 5-cell pouch with “ADAMS” stenciled on the back, and a 3-cell pouch. CONDITION: Very good as professionally refinished, with 90% plus matte black finish, showing a brown patina on the compensator and other small parts, mild edge wear and light handling marks. The wood is excellent, with some dings and thin spots in the varnish. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.

Grouping of Thompson Submachine Gun Accessories
- Grouping consists of four blued 20-round stick magazines (assorted makers), an Auto-Ordnance 50-round Type “L” drum magazine, horizontal hardwood forearm, an unmarked tan canvas drum pouch and a “U.S.M.C/1944” marked tan canvas 3-cell stick mag pouch.
CONDITION: Very fine overall. The magazines show mild wear and spotting, with some fading and staining of the canvas.
