Harrington & Richardson Model 50 Reising
Submachine Gun, Class III/
NFA C&R Fully Transferable Machine Gun,
with Extra Magazine - Serial no. 6446, 45 ACP cal.,
11 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. A closed-bolt blowback-operated submachine
gun, the Reising Model 50 saw action with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific as a substitute
for the M1 Thompson, though they found their best success as defensive weapons for war-
essential industries and as patrol carbines for American police forces. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a flash hider/muzzle break, cooling fins on the barrel, three- line Worcester address near the ejection port, and three-position selector/safety on the right side. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cocking lever on the underside, a label reading “SUB 5” on the underside of the wrist, and a lightly ribbed buttplate. The buttplate is marked “NPD,” likely for a police department. Included with the lot is an extra magazine.
CONDITION: fine, with 80% of the thinning period refinished blue, showing areas of brown and gray patina, a small amount of pitting on the barrel, and mild handling marks.
The stock is very good as
repaired, with minor chips
and cracks around the edges, a small section of
replacement wood near the magazine well, and mild dents and scuffs overall. Mechanically
excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA),
fully transferable Class 3, which
is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.

Iver Johnson M1 Selective Fire Carbine, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. AA00468, 30 cal., 18 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s, the Iver Johnson M1 Carbine was manufactured under the Johnson name in facilities and by staff formerly with Plainfield Machine, and operates on the same core principles as the military issue M2 Automatic Carbine. Blade front and adjustable peep rear sights, with an unmarked barrel, Iver Johnson marked receiver, and a flat top bolt. The muzzle has been threaded, and a thread protector installed. The trigger housing is Inland marked, with a matching serial electro-penciled on the left side of the magazine well and “JACK RAMSEY/ROCKSPRINGS WY” on the right, with a set of M2 machine gun components installed. Fitted with a fixed hardwood stock with a ventilated steel upper handguard. CONDITION: Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing a gray pitted patina on most of the barrel, bright edge wear, and mild cycling marks. The stock is excellent, with a few minor dings and chips. Mechanically very good.
