Fine Engraved Westley Richards .400/.360 (Westley Richards Nitro Express) “1897 New Model” Single Shot Falling Block Sporting Rifle - Serial no. 36996,
400/360 cal., 27 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in circa 1907. With blued tapering round barrel signed “WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LONDON”, “W.R. H.V. NITRO EXPRESS .360 BORE” and with block mounted bead front sight, block mounted rear express sight comprising
one standing leaf graduated for “100” yards and with platinum inlaid sighting pyramid, two folding leaves graduated for “200” and “300” yards each with platinum inlaid center line, and folding ladder sight graduated to “1200” yards with platinum inlaid center line to the adjustable bar, and with
reinforced breech end with Westley Richards “triangle”. Casehardened border and scroll engraved action signed “WESTLEY RICHARDS” on each side and with casehardened underlever and trigger guard, and blued safety catch. With London nitro proof marks. Figured 13 1/2 inch semi-pistol grip stock including rubber recoil pad, with checkered
grip and forearm, and dark horn pistol grip cap. With blued sling eyes. Weight 6 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Professionally refinished throughout and retaining nearly all of the renewed finish. Blacked barrel with
clear signatures. Action and furniture casehardened with clear engraving and signatures. Stock with very minor handling blemishes, sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

CONDITION: Fine, retaining 98% period refinished blue finish showing a plum hue on the
barrel, some pitting under the finish, dried grease giving a greenish hue, and overall mild
handling evidence. There is a professionally repaired section on either side of the upper tang, otherwise the wood is also fine with some edge chipping and sharp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved George Gibbs Farquharson Patent Single Shot Falling Block Sporting Rifle with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 49, 275 HV cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrel with ramped white bead front sight, fixed blade rear sight which doubles as the front scope mount, the rear scope mount, and the caliber
“275 H.V./(FLANGED)” on the left of the breech. The casehardened falling block
action is adorned with beautiful near full coverage floral scroll engraving with tasteful use of negative
space surrounding “GEORGE GIBBS/BRISTOL” on the left side. The action is also marked on the right with “FARQUHARSON’S/PATENT/576”. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with ebony tip and pistol grip stock
with horn grip cap, blank inscription oval, and red rubber recoil pad. Includes a Zeiss Diavari-C 3-9x36mm scope. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored, showing 99% blue and casehardened finishes, some slight chipping
along some of the edges of the wood, some very light scattered handling evidence, and sharp re-cut checkering. The scope optics are sharp. Action functions properly; however, chamber is tight.

Factory Game Scene Engraved Calcutta Retailer Marked Westley Richards Falling Block Sporting Rifle - Serial no. 36087, 450-400 3” cal., 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrel with a hooded beaded
blade front sight, four leaf (three folding, one standing) rear sight, and additional ladder rear sight just ahead of the four leaf, “WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. LONDON” marked on top of the
barrel, “EXPRESSLY BUILT FOR A. HARTMAN & Co. CALCUTTA.” on the right side of the barrel, and “WESTLEY RICHARDS/HIGH VELOCITY NITRO/EXPRESS RIFLE .400 BORE” marked near the muzzle. The rifle shows correct period Birmingham proofs and lists a max charge of 60
grains cordite under a 400 grain bullet. The blued falling block action shows an Asiatic lion scene on either side with the left over “WESTLEY RICHARDS & C
