Factory Game Scene Engraved Gebruder Merkel Model 141 Double Rifle - Serial no. 551401, 8x57 IRS cal., 23 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish,
walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped red fiber optic blade front sight and fixed rear sight on the matted solid rib, standard Merkel markings, 2002 dated German proofs, import mark under the forend, small wedges of scroll at either breech, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sideclipped boxlock action displays a roaring red stag on the left in a forested scene and a running boar on the right with the balance showing broad scrollwork. The rifle features double triggers, bushed firing pins, and

markings, 1996 dated German proofs, and
chambers with single extractor. The coin finished boxlock action displays light floral

E.”, two bands of engraving at either breech, and 2001 dated German proofs. The coin finished sideclipped boxlock action displays light scroll engraving and features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a manual tang mounted safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, and pistol grip
stock with raised cheekpiece, internal added weight, and black grip cap and serrated buttplate. Included is the original factory box. Length of pull 14 7/16 inches. Weight 10 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with limited handling evidence, some areas with a thin layer of grease on the action, a slight stress line at the upper tang, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
