John Martz Custom P.38 Semi-
Automatic Sporting Carbine - Serial no. 4610b, 9 mm cal.,
16 1/2 inch round bbl., bright finish, walnut stock. Uses a mixture of new-made and
military production components. Drift adjustable ramp bead front sight and Artillery-style tangent
rear sight with fine adjustable notch (spanner not included) and filler block in the normal rear sight
location. No markings remain on the slide. Frame and barrel lug marked “eagle/359” and the locking block marked
“eagle/88”. Martz’s “20” and “JVM” marks are present on the right side of the frame, with a solid mounting iron added
to the underside of the frame ahead of the triggerguard. To allow a High Power-style stock groove, a steel extension
block has been welded to the back of the magazine well. The furniture is all made from fancy checkered walnut, with
sling swivels on the Schnabel tip forearm and straight wrist stock, grip panels shaped to accommodate the stock
groove, and an unnumbered bright steel iron and serrated horn buttplate on the buttstock.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom upgraded to current configuration. The exterior surface has been polished bright and shows a mixed gray patina, scattered brown spotting, and mild handling marks overall. The wood is also very fine, with a few light dings and scuffs overall, along with some small holes in the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.

Presentation Cased Walther/John Martz P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol in Desirable 45 ACP/38 Super - Serial no. 3426, 45-38 Super cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This P.38 has been chambered to shoot 45 ACP and 38 Super through the use of Martz slide and barrel assemblies. Fitted with blade front and notch rear sights, the left side of the slide is marked with a hand engraved Walther banner, “P38” and in fancy script “Martz
.45 acp/ No. 20”, with “LINCOLN,
CA./U.S.A.” in matching script on the
right side. The frame is marked with
the serial number “3426” and a “waffenamt/359” after, with circled “JVM” and “20” on the right side. The trigger guard is marked “ac.” Barrel lug is marked “JVM” on the left, with an unmarked locking block. Blued magazine marked “.45 Auto./JVM” on the floor plate. Included wood case has two brass plaques inside that read “Prototype P38 45 ACP/38 Super Calibers Sept. 20 1995. Case by Robert Edwards”. With an extra barrel and slide assembly marked “Martz .38 Super/No 6” and extra magazine marked “38 Super/JVM” on the floorplate.

original markings. The grips
are very fine, with a few tiny
chips absent from the leading
edges, attractive grain, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
   CONDITION: Very fine as custom upgraded to current configuration by Martz, retaining 99% high polish blue with some light handling marks and some light surface corrosion on the polished slide stop. Grips are also very fine with sharp checkering and some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
