Exceptional Engraved and Game Scene Damascened
Llama IIIA Semi- Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. 550727, 380 ACP
cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl.,
blue/gold finish, plastic grips. Offered here is a wonderful example
of Spanish firearms art. This Llama IIIA features near full coverage
damascene inlays. The left side of the slide features geometric
and floral designs surrounding a central panel of a pheasant in
a wooded scene and “LLAMA-CAL-380” near the rear sight with
engraved accents. The slide features a matching motif with a central
fox scene and engraved accents. The frame, safety, grip safety, and slide
release are all damascened to match the slide with a songbird scene on the underside of the
frame ahead of the triggerguard and a crane scene on the frontstrap. Each of the triggerguard cutouts have been engraved with a light floral design. The right side of the frame is marked on
the right side with the importer marking. Even the magazine baseplate on this pistol features a beautifully executed damascened floral motif. The frame is fitted with a set of pearlite grips with damascened “LLAMA” medallions. Includes an extra magazine with matching damascened baseplate CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, crisp engraving, and bright gold Damascend inlays. The grips are very fine with a few hairline stress lines coming off the central medallions and screw holes. Mechanically excellent. Damascened pistols are highly sought
after by collectors, and this exceptional example would fit perfectly in any European arms collection! Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500

Attractive Engraved Gold Plated Llama Model IIIA Semi-Automatic Pistol -
Serial no. 146773, 380 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., gold finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1950 per the “U” date proof. This pistol features near full coverage
deep relief floral scroll engraving on the slide with a banner on the left with the “G/ LLAMA/C” logo flanked by “CAL. 9 M/M” and “(380)”. The frame displays a matching floral scroll motif covering 50% of the surfaces as well as full coverage of the slide release and safety. Along with the engraving, the whole of this pistol, including the magazine, has been gold plated. The left side of the frame is marked with Spanish proofs and the right side is marked with the serial number. The pistol is fitted with a set of smooth white plastic grips with “G/LLAMA/C” medallions.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% plus replated gold finish with limited handling marks and overall crisp engraving. Grips are very fine as well with a few dings and scratches. The slide release does not function with magazine inserted, however this can be remedied with the use of a narrow toe magazine, otherwise mechanically excellent.
