Outstanding Merwin Hulbert & Co., Fourth Model Double Action Revolver with Deluxe Hartley & Graham Factory Case and Matching Extra Barrel - Serial no. 23003, 44-40 WCF cal., 5 1/2 inch bbl., nickel finish, checkered hard rubber grips. This outstanding nickel plated 4th Model Merwin Hulbert revolver has a casehardened trigger guard, trigger, and hammer with folding spur and lanyard loop on the butt. The grips are black checkered hard rubber. The revolver
has an extra matching 3 1/2 inch barrel and is complete with a deluxe, satin lined Morocco leather case with Hartley & Graham label. The serial number is located on the butt, barrel, and the cylinder. All of the serial numbers match. The extra barrel is also numbered to the gun. The top of the barrel rib is marked: “MERWIN HULBERT & CO. NEW YORK U.S.A./PAT. APR.17.77 JUNE 15.80 MAR.14.82 JAN.9.83” in two lines. The left side of the frame is marked: “CALIBRE/WINCHESTER 1873” in two lines below the cylinder. The left side of the extra barrel is marked: “HOPKINS & ALLEN MFG.CO. NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A./PAT. APR.17. 77 JUNE 15.80 MAR. 14. 82 JAN. 9. 93” in two lines. The case is lined with scarlet satin and has a black leather interior label with gold print that reads: “HARTLEY & GRAHAM/UNITED STATES OF AMERICA/AGENTS/COLT PATENT MANUFACTURING FIREARMS COMPANY”. The case exterior is black Morocco leather with plated hinges and latch.
