Scarce DWM Model 1902 American Eagle Commercial 9mm “Fat Barrel” Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 22689, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. This is an exceptionally fine original example of the first pistol chambered in 9mm Parabellum (9mm Luger), the DWM Model 1902 American Eagle “Fat Barrel” semi-automatic pistol, intended specifically for the lucrative United States
market. Only approximately 600-700 of these pistols in this chambering were manufactured and are typically found in the serial number ranges 22100-22300 and 22450-22900. Fixed sights, with the American
Eagle on the chamber, “DWM” on the front toggle link, and the following early Luger features: dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breech block, “fat” profile 9mm barrel, flat recoil spring, grip safety and no stock
lug. The small parts are straw finished, with a pair of finely checkered walnut grips and a nickel finished magazine with a walnut base correctly marked “Cal. 9m/m” on bottom. Parts are matching overall in the “commercial” pattern. The front of the frame is marked “GERMANY”, appropriate to an American
import of the era.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus original blue
finish with some light edge wear and 70% original
straw colors on the small parts. The grips are also
very fine with some light handling marks and defined
checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Outstanding DWM Model 1906 Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 35086, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/straw finish, walnut grips. This is
an exceptional example of a DWM Model 1906 commercial Luger. These early commercial Lugers were made expressly for
commercial sales through out the United States, Europe and South America to increase overseas sales by the DWM factory. These early commercial Lugers have the best fit and finish with beautiful hand polish rust blued finish on the metal parts with
straw color on the smaller components with beautiful dark European hand checkered walnut stock. These were probably some of the best of the Lugers that the DWM factory ever produced. The model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver with
the 4 3/4 inch tapered barrel, grip safety, no stock lug with a blank chamber area. Evidently, this pistol was produced early enough in the production cycle that DWM had not started applying any of the standard commercial proofs such as the crown over the “B,U, and G” proof marks, as well as the commercial “N” proof marks. The only markings on this pistol are the full serial number on the underside of the barrel and the front of the frame with
“GERMANY” stamped below the serial number. The left side of the breechblock and toggle have the partial serial number of “86” stamped on them as does the take down lever, side plate, trigger and grip safety. The back side of
the left grip panel has been over stamped with a small cross and
“43” and the right grip also has the small cross with the small letter “i”. The trigger, take down lever, magazine release button and ejector are all straw colored. The pistol as noted is fitted with a beautiful set of dark European checkered walnut grips. It is complete with correct magazine that has a tinned body with a unmarked wooden base.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with 98% plus of the original blued finish
overall with just the hint of wear on the edges and high spots of the side
plate hump, the edges of the trigger guard bow and the front of the frame rails. The original straw
colors are bright and 98% plus remains. The grips are also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
