Massive Engraved British Brass Barreled Flintlock
Blunderbuss - NSN, 1 1/2 inch gauge, 20 1/8 inch round bbl.,
bright finish, walnut stock. The brass barrel flares out to just over 1 3/4
inches at the muzzle and the bore measurement is approximate. The barrel is not marked
with any visible proofs. Floral engraving on top of the breech and on the sideplate. The lock is
marked with the Georgian cipher at the center and “TOWER” at the tail. The stock has a checkered wrist
and a compartment inside the buttstock (absent screw-off compartment door on the buttplate).
CONDITION: Fine, with an attractive bright golden appearance on the brass, and bright iron surfaces with some
scattered patches of light pitting, and defined markings and engraving. A crack is visible on the lower tang. The stock is also
fine with scattered dings and scratches, a few discreet repairs visible at the edges, a few very small minor cracks, and defined edges and checkering. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
swivel mounted on the middle barrel band and ahead of the trigger guard bow, and mounted with a full straight grip stock with a dished cheek rest and inset brass plate on the left side of the buttstock inscribed “Roussier” and a small inset black five point star on the right. Complete with a trumpet head iron ramrod. CONDITION: Very fine. The metal surfaces have a bright appearance with some small areas of minor discoloration. The brass has an attractive aged patina. The stock has been varnished and remains very fine with a few scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.

British Brass Barrel Blunderbuss - NSN, 13
gauge, 16 inch round bbl., bright finish, walnut stock. The multi-
stage barrel has an approximately .70 caliber bore and 1 1/4 inch muzzle opening, London proofmarks flanking a “crown/IU” maker’s mark on the
left at the breech, and an iron tang. The front trigger guard screw fastens into the barrel tang. The trigger guard is iron, and the trigger is offset to the
right. The brass sideplate is similar to a Sea Service Brown Bess and is followed by a small “VC” marking on the wood. The brass buttplate is secured by small nails.
CONDITION: Very good with attractively aged patina visible on the barrel, dark brown patina on the iron along with moderate oxidation and pitting, and general mild overall wear. The stock is also very good and has a repair and absent pin at the forend tip, some cracks, small insect hole, small chips, and light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.

Exceptionally Fine French Flintlock Cadet Musket - NSN, 69 cal., 36 inch round bbl.,
bright finish, walnut stock. Lock is marked “Mre. Rle/de Mutzig” ahead of the cock, and there is
a “star/S” in an oval at the top between the cock and flash pan. There is a recessed “H” in a square and “23” stamped on the
underside of the flash pan. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked with a recessed “crown/L” in a diamond, and the lower tang
is marked with a “C” in a shield and recessed “crown/H”. The lock components are iron, with the exception of the removable brass flash pan.
