Cased Colt Model 1855 Side Hammer “Root” Pocket Revolver with Accessories - Serial no. 2110, 28 Percussion cal., 3 1/2 inch octagon bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured beginning in 1855 with pin and notch sights, with “COLT’S PT./1855” followed by “ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT U.S.A.” with the pointing finger and Maltese crosses on the top flat of the barrel. Checkered hammer spur and smooth trigger, with 3 box shaped stamps below the hammer. Smooth one piece walnut grip. Includes a wooden case lined in brown velvet, a brass 2-chamber bullet mold, rare original Root screwdriver with a wooden handle, percussion cap tin, brass powder flask with American Eagle,
English screws, and an iron grip frame. It features all matching serial numbers on the various metal components. The grip was not removed. It comes in an English case. The case contains a cleaning rod, L-shaped combination tool, blued Colt mold, bag shaped James Dixon & Sons powder flask, R. Walker cap tin, and a directions for loading and cleaning label with a faint name and “Newark N.J.” marking hand signed at the top. CONDITION: Very fine with 75% plus original case colors, 80% original blue finish on the barrel, traces of original blue on the cylinder, 20% original blue finish on the grip straps, distinct markings and cylinder scene, and generally minor overall wear. The slightly undersized grip is also very fine and has nearly all of the original high polish varnish and minor edge and handling wear. Mechanically excellent. The case and accessories are very good and have mild age and storage related wear. Provenance: The Norm Vegely Collection. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500

shield and banner and lead bullets, round and conical. CONDITION: Very fine, showing 95% of the most likely Hartley & Graham retailer plated nickel finish, with scattered overall minor flaking. The grip is also very fine with 95% of the varnish, some light cracks at the butt and scattered minor dings overall. The bullet mold and flask have a smooth aged patina, with one leg of the mold turned inward and the spring absent from the flask. The case is fine with one partition replaced and a slightly darker color, a 2 inch minor hairline crack in the lid, and some mild wear on the lining. Trigger spring is weak (not engaging hammer), otherwise mechanically functions otherwise. All markings are clear and crisp. Provenance: The Norm Vegely Collection. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
