Cased Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 192945, 36 cal., 7 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. This classic Colt Model 1851 Navy was manufactured in 1866 just after the American Civil War. Colt percussion revolvers were very popular in the Old West following the War Between the States, including with famous western icons like Wild Bill Hickok and Buffalo Bill. The revolver has a cone front sight, “-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-” on top of the barrel, “COLTS/PATENT” on the left side of the frame, “V” and “36 CAL” on the left side of the trigger guard, and the standard Naval Battle of Campeche cylinder scene. The loading lever appears to have the serial number filed off. The barrel has the matching serial number with the “4” over-stamped on a “9.” The cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and back strap have matching serial numbers. The revolver comes in a wood case with a martial themed flask, cleaning rod, and ball/bullet mold.
CONDITION: Very good plus with 60% blue finish on the barrel, traces of original finish on other components, mostly smooth gray patina on the balance, minor oxidation and pitting, distinct cylinder scene, attractive aged patina on the grip straps, and fairly minor overall wear. The grip is excellent and has nearly all of the original “piano” varnish, minor edge wear, and light edge wear. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is very good with mild wear. The measure is dented. The mold is very fine and retains much of the blue finish. The flask is good and has mild age and storage related wear and some of the original brown lacquer remaining.

Attractive Cased Colt Model 1855 “Root”
Sidehammer Pocket Percussion Revolver
- Serial no. 10542, 28 cal., 3 1/2 inch octagon
bbl., blue finish, antique ivory grips. This is a high condition example was
manufactured in 1856 and is the “Model 2” variant of Colt’s “New Model Revolving Pocket Pistol” better known as the “Model 1855 Root” after Elisha K. Root, then superintendent at Colt’s factory and later president of the company. The revolver has the 3 1/2 inch octagon barrel with a brass cone front sight and the pointing hand motif followed by “+COLT’S PT./1855+” and “ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.+” on top, the cabin and Indian fight scene on the cylinder, a smooth grip, and matching serial numbers on the cylinder, barrel, and butt. The revolver comes in a fitted hardwood case with a brass ball/bullet mold, cap tin, Great Seal of the U.S. themed pocket flask, several balls, and a key.
CONDITION: Fine with 60% plus original high polish blue finish, 80% plus original case colors on the hammer, distinct markings and cylinder scene, and general minor overall wear mostly from age and storage. The grip is very good and has some small chips above the heel at the edges, minor age cracks, and very attractive grain and natural tones. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are very good and have mild a

Colt London Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 39826, 36 cal cal., 7 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. The Colt London Model was manufactured from 1853 to 1857, with this example being manufactured in 1855 this is a 2nd Model with a steel grip frame. The barrel is marked “---ADDRESS. COL: COLT. LONDON---”. The left side of the frame is marked “COLTS/PATENT”. London “crown/V and “crown/GP” are stamped on the left side of the barrel just in front of the wedge and on the cylinder between each nipple. The cylinder is roll engraved with the naval scene. The barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap were blued; frame, hammer and loading lever casehardened. The full serial number is marked on the loading lever, barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, cylinder and back strap. The partial number “9826” is marked on the wedge. CONDITION: Very good. All metal surfaces have a mottled grayish patina. The loading lever does retain strong traces of the original case colors in protected areas. There are a few minor dings around the wedge. The grips are fine with almost all of the original varnish remaining, scattered minor pressure dents and dings and some edge wear. All markings and cylinder scene are clear. Mechanically fine. Scarce Transitional Colt Model 1848 Baby Dragoon Percussion Revolver with Rammer - Serial no. 13960, 31 cal., 5 inch octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. This revolver was manufactured in 1850 during the transition between the Model 1848 Baby Dragoon and Model 1849 Pocket revolvers. It has the distinctive squareback trigger guard of the earlier model while also featuring the improved rectangular cylinder stops and barrel mounted loading lever typical of the Model 1849 Pocket. The barrel has a post front sight and “-ADDRESS SAML COLT/ NEW-YORK CITY-” on top and a small loading cutout on the right side of the lug. The five-shot cylinder has the stagecoach hold-up scene and safety pins between each nipple. The frame has the small “COLTS/PATENT” marking. The squareback cylinder has a “C” on the left and a “T” on the right. The back strap has “JPB” lightly scratched on the butt. Matching serial numbers are found on the wedge, arbor pin, cylinder, loading lever, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. CONDITION: Very good with 85% plus original silver plating remaining and display an attractive aged patina. The cylinder is a mix of silver-gray and brown patina and has a distinct roll-scene and mostly complete pins. The balance of the revolver displays mostly mottled brown patina. There is some mild pitting. The grip is very fine and has much of the varnish finish remaining, a chip at the heel on the left, minor lower edge wear, and light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine. This is a solid representative example of the transitional Colt Model 1848 Dragoon. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250
