Colt Etched Panel New House Model .38 Spur
Trigger Revolver -
Serial no. 15799, 38 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch
round bbl., nickel finish, rosewood
grips. One of approximately 4,000
manufactured from 1880 to 1886,
with this example produced in 1883. The top of the barrel has the two-line
Hartford address, the “COLT HOUSE 38” etched panel is on
the left, and the patent date on the bottom. There are British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. It has standard features
and the serial number is marked on the butt. It is fitted with a pair of smooth rosewood grips that are hand numbered “5799” inside each panel. Includes
an oak case with James Beattie & Son retailer label inside the lid, screwdriver, cleaning rod, oiler, key, and a few .38 CF cartridges.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% of the original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking, primarily on the grip straps and butt, and a crisp etched panel. The grips are fine with numerous scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some scattered minor handling/storage marks.

Colt New Line .38 Etched Panel Spur Trigger Revolver -
Serial no. 1759, 38 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1875, the standard two- line Colt address on top of the barrel and “COLT NEW 38” in an etched panel on the left. The left of the frame is marked “38CAL”. The matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, rear of the cylinder (“759”), and hand marked on the inside of each smooth rosewood grip. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered light spotting and a crisp etched panel. The grips are also very fine with some scattered light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

Rare and Excellent Short Barreled Colt House Model Cloverleaf Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 2781, 41 RF cal., 1 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1871, this is an example of a desirable, short, 1 1/2 inch barrel version of the Colt “Cloverleaf” revolver. The left side
of the barrel is marked “COLT”, which is slightly double-stamped, and the matching serial number is marked on the butt, bottom of the
barrel, and in ink on the inside of each grip panel. It has
standard features including an ejector and a pair
of smooth, bird’s head, rosewood grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97%
plus of the slightly frosted original
nickel finish with some scattered
light handling marks. The grips
are also excellent with a few
scattered minor storage dings
and scratches and retaining
most of the original varnish.
Mechanically excellent.
