     LOT 1342 World War II U.S. Marked Winchester Model 12 Slide Action Trench Shotgun - Serial no.
1015098, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The Winchester Model 12 and Model 97 Trench Guns were the primary U.S. combat shotguns in World War II, Korea, and even into Vietnam and were used by both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. The barrel is fitted with the late pattern four hole blued heat shield/bayonet lug, and the breech end is stamped with the Ordnance shell and flame insignia with a circled “WP” Winchester proof on both the barrel and receiver. The right front end of the receiver is also roll stamped with the Ordnance shell and flame insignia next to “U.S.” The serial number is roll stamped on the underside of the receiver and barrel extension. “43” dated on the bottom breech end of the barrel. It is fitted with the standard varnished walnut 18-groove pump handle and buttstock stamped on the left with boxed “G.H.D.” (Guy H. Drewry) inspection initials above a crossed cannons Ordnance proof. The stock is fitted with a black checkered hard rubber buttplate with the circular Winchester logo. The stock has a lower sling swivel with the larger wire sling bail swivel on the bayonet lug.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 98% plus factory refinished blue finish with sharp markings and edges in the metal. The wood is also very fine with defined edges, scattered dents and scratches, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,500 - 9,500

Outstanding U.S. Springfield M1C Garand Semi- Automatic Sniper Rifle with M84 Scope, Anniston Army Depot Shipping Box and Accessories - Serial no. 3251860,
30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Originally manufactured in November of 1944 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1C Sniper configuration. While in theory superseded by the more armorer-friendly M1D, the M1C served well as a primary sniper rifle in World War II, Korea, and as late as Vietnam. Blade front and peep rear sights, “DRC” windage drum, “S-A-10-51” marked barrel, “SA” bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and relief cut operating rod. The arsenal replacement stock is marked with a circled “P” proofmark on the front of the pistol grip. The M84 scope is serial numbered “48037” on the data plate, with a post-and-crosshair reticle, sliding sunshield, a rubber eyepiece, and an marked ring assembly. The scope rail is secured to the side with three screws and two pins. The rifle is accompanied by an Anniston Army Depot shipping box marked with the date “11-6-95” and containing accessories, some of which are still in their sealed packaging, including a M2 cone flash hider, canvas scope case, sling, leather cheek pad, and cleaning tools. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 99% arsenal refurbished parkerized finish. The stock is excellent with a few light handling marks. The scope is excellent with 99% original blue finish and crisp clear optics. Mechanically excellent. Included box is fine. Estimate: 4,500 - 7,000

World War II U.S. Remington Model 1903A4 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Weaver 330/M73B1 Scope - Serial no. 4996190, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized/blue finish, walnut stock. The original iron sights are properly absent as standard on these sniper variants, with a Remington “1-44” dated barrel, “R” marked bolt with properly turned and contoured handle, and the properly offset manufacturer, model, and serial number markings on the receiver ring. Smooth pistol grip scant stock, “RA” (Remington Arms) and boxed “FJA” (Frank J. Atwood) inspection stamps surrounding a crossed cannons Ordnance cartouche on the left stock wrist, boxed “RIA/EB” (Rock Island Arsenal/Elmer Bjerke) rebuild cartouche stamped on the left of the buttstock, with a checkered blue steel buttplate. The Weaver Model 330/M73B1 scope has the standard Model 330 nomenclature and is electro-stenciled on the right with “TELESCOPE M73B1/SERIAL NO. 7638”, and mounted on a parkerized Redfield scope base. Includes a Boyt “44” dated M1907 brown leather sling and leather scope lens covers. CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining 98% parkerized finish and 90% blue finish with some areas of light freckling. The stock is also very fine with defined edges, a few light handling marks, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. Included scope is excellent, retaining 97% original blue finish with a few minor scratches on the tube, and crisp clear optics.
