U.S. Springfield M1D Garand Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle with M84 Scope, Anniston Army Depot Shipping Box and CMP Letter - Serial no. 610591, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Originally manufactured in May of 1942 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights, “DRC” windage drum, “S-A-2-52” marked barrel, “SA” bolt, trigger housing, safety, hammer and operating rod. “AA” on the left stock wrist with a circled “P” proofmark on front of the pistol grip. Fitted with a “SA” M2 cone flash hider, “MRT” marked leather cheekpiece, olive drab green canvas sling, M84 scope serial numbered “40857”, with a post-and-crosshair reticle, sliding sunshield and a rubber eyepiece, and the butt compartment of the stock contains cleaning tools. Includes a copy of a Civilian Marksmanship Program letter identifying this M1D rifle as sold out of inventory in February of 1996. The included Anniston Army Depot shipping box contains some cleaning tools still in their sealed packaging, empty packaging for some of the accessories currently fitted on the rifle, and an olive drab green canvas scope carrying case. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D configuration, retains 99% parkerized finish with only light handling marks. Stock is very fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled, with a few light handling marks. Scope is excellent, retains 98% original blue finish on the tube with a few light handling marks and crisp clear optics. Mechanically excellent. Included shipping box is very good with general wear. World War II U.S. Winchester Model 97 Slide Action Trench Style Shotgun - Serial no. E955639, 12 gauge, 21 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The Winchester Model 97 trench shotgun gained worldwide fame in the trenches of World War I with its slam fire capability, and was extensively utilized in the Pacific Theater during World War II, remaining in Army and Marine inventory until the 1990s. This classic military shotgun is desirable in any condition. Single bead front sight and six-hole heat shield with bayonet lug, with a filled in hole on the barrel where a sight bead used to reside ahead of the trench adapter indicating this was likely converted from a riot gun. The barrel is marked for cylinder choke, a 2 3/4 inch chamber, and “42” dated on the underside. Flaming bomb proofs are present on top of the barrel and on the left side of the frame next to “U.S.” Matching serial numbers marked on
the bottom of the receiver and takedown collar. Ribbed forearm and smooth pistol grip stock, front sling swivel (no rear sling swivel), checkered buttplate and a 13 7/8 inch length of pull. CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% original blue finish, with scattered patches of light pitting/corrosion, and sharp markings in the metal. The replacement wood is very good as sanded and heavily revarnished, with some scattered light handling marks and a re-glued cracked section at the toe. Mechanically excellent. LOT 1354 Fine World War II U.S. Inland M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 240038, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Features “INLAND” marked “12-42” dated barrel, “N” marked winged blade front sight, “S” marked two-position flip rear sight, Type I barrel band, “IC” flat top bolt, “Circle PI” slide, “INLAND” milled trigger housing, “HI” dog leg hammer, unmarked push button safety, and “IA” magazine. Furniture consists of an “IO” two-rivet, deep groove handguard and high wood stock with “IO” marked inside the sling cutout, “Circle P” proof on bottom of
grip, and a faux “Crossed Cannons” cartouche on the right of the buttstock. Includes a green web sling, oiler, and “U.S.” marked green canvas carry bag. Also includes data sheet of components provided by consignor (noted as being from March 1943 production). CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally refinished and assembled, with minor handling marks and cycling wear. The stock is very fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled, with minimal handling marks. Tape has been placed on the back of the handguard to improve fit. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

Scarce U.S. International Harvester “Gap Letter” M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 5207362, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Receiver from 1956 production, with a gap between the “U.S./ CAL.” and “RIFLE /.30 M1” markings on top of receiver heel, denoting manufacture by Springfield Armory before being completed by International Harvester. Features a winged blade front and adjustable peep rear sights, “LMR 6 55” marked barrel, “IHC/D19”
marked bolt, along with “IHC” marked trigger group, hammer, and operating rod. The stock is marked with an “eagle” cartouche on the left side above the trigger guard and “Circle P” proof on the front face of the grip. Includes green web sling and plastic charging handle cover. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% arsenal parkerized finish with moderate edge wear and handling marks. The stock is also very fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with some minor scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500
LOT 1356 World War II U.S. Remington Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 3290139, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Remington Arms started manufacturing M1903s in May 1941 for British lend-lease use, with old tooling and machinery from Rock Island Arsenal. After Pearl Harbor, the rifles were held at Remington and issued to both U.S.M.C. and Army units headed to the Pacific Theater. The barrel is stamped “RA/Ordnance Bomb/10-42.” Features a hooded blade front and adjustable ladder rear sight, without a volley sight notch. The receiver ring has standard markings and features. Comprised of numerous Remington “R” marked parts, including the recoil shield, rear sight, front sight cover, and nose cap. Fitted with a high-hump handguard and smooth “S” type straight grip stock with brass pins, sub-inspection stamps ahead of the floorplate, circled “P” on the bottom of the wrist, “F.J.A.” inspection and “cross cannons” cartouches on the left side, and checkered steel trapdoor buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, with 97% of parkerized finish retained with light handling marks, edge wear, and attractive grey/green hue. The stock is very fine, showing signs of light sanding and re-oiling with moderate handling marks and some deep scratches on the right side of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
