Beretta BM59 Selective Fire Battle Rifle, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. X000014, 7.62 mm Nato cal., 18 1/2 inch round bbl., matte grey finish, hardwood stock. Blade front and peep rear sights, with a combination flash hider, grenade launcher and bayonet lug on the muzzle, flip up grenade sight with “Energa” increment insert fitted to the gas block, and a bipod on the gas cylinder. The receiver heel is marked “7.62mm BM 59/P.BERETTA/ROCK ISLAND/ARMORY/X000014”, with the selector switch on the front left side. The stock is the upper handguard and main body near the gas system, a smooth pistol grip, and a rubber buttplate with flip-up shoulder rest and storage compartment. The trigger housing is fitted with a folding winter trigger, which is obstructed by the pistol grip, with proper reshaping to accommodate the magazine. Included with the lot is an extra BM59 pattern stock, two extra magazines, and a bayonet with sheath. CONDITION: Excellent, with 55% plus matte gray phosphate finish, showing some verdigris buildup around the gas system, edge wear and mild handling marks. The stock is very good, with mild scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Charles Erb Vickers Mark I Heavy Machine Gun, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun, with Accessories - Serial no. 643A, 303 British , 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This is a highly desirable Vickers Pattern Mk I heavy machine gun that has been assembled on a Charles Erb sideplate. An evolution of the Maxim Gun, the Vickers was a well refined heavy machine gun, with a water cooling system that permitted long strings of automatic fire without overheating. Blade front and folding peep rear sight on the top cover and a Mark II dial sight mounted on the left, which conceals the Erb markings. The water jacket is brass with steel endcaps, with a “303” marked feed mechanism and a set of smooth wood spade grips. With a steel and
brass tripod, a petrol can, and a belt box containing three canvas belts, tool and two oilers.
CONDITION: Fine as assembled, retains 95% refinished blue finish with a few areas of light pitting visible
underneath the finish and some scattered light handling marks. The spade grips show mild scuffs, and the accessories are in good order. The rear spade grip is retained by two incorrect length shorter bolts, otherwise functions mechanically fine.
