By serial number, this pistol falls into the number block of 11300 to 11800 of military contract pistols. The top of the chamber is marked “1943,” and the front toggle is correctly marked with the late production C-2 style Krieghoff toggle marking that has the smaller “C” style radii anchor with the left point of the anchor, slightly outside the letter “H” with the right point touching the bottom of the “K”, as shown on page 83 of the “Krieghoff Parabellum”, (right column fourth picture down). It is fitted with the correct late production coarse checkered black plastic grips that are unmarked on the backside. As noted, it is complete with two original matching blue magazines that are stamped on the side of the body, “P08/fxo/Eagle/37” with the aluminum base correctly stamped on the bottom with the upside down, “Eagle/2” Luftwaffe acceptance proof over the serial number “11375”. It is complete with an exceptionally nice Luger leather holster that has a single Luftwaffe “eagle/2” proof on the inside.
CONDITION: Excellent with 97% plus of the original blue finish remaining, edge and high spot wear on the front frame rails, side plate hump and muzzle area;
and thinning on the grip straps. The small parts retain 85% of their original straw colors overall. The grips are also excellent with nice checkering on both sides. The holster is very fine overall with some minor scuffing and handling marks and clear proof mark inside the holster. This Luger itself has all matching numbers to include both magazines. An excellent 1943 Krieghoff P.08 rig for the serious Luger collectors!
