Blued Bohler Antinit
Steel barrels with a steel
mid-bead and orange
fiber optic front sight on the matted vent rib,
standard 1972 dated Italian proofs, some light engraving near the breech, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The coin finished hand detachable sidelock action exudes excellence with its display of outstanding decoration. Both lockplates show a beautifully
executed, highly detailed game scene with a partridge in flight over a field on the left and a pheasant flushing from cover on the right. The action and sidelocks are covered in floral scrollwork from stem to stern, surrounding the game scenes and backed by a matted dark background giving the piece a wonderful dimensionality. The engraving continues onto the toplever, upper tang and trigger guard. The triggerplate is signed “M. Gobbi” for Italian Master Engraver Maximo Gobbi, father of another well known master, Massimiliano “Max” Gobbi. The gun features gas checked firing pins, a single gold plated trigger, and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Exceptionally attractive, exhibition grade burl walnut forend with multi-point checkering and engraved fittings done in to match the action. The pistol grip stock is of the same outstanding quality and features
a right hand palm swell and a Beretta recoil pad. Includes an extra set of 28 inch vent rib barrels with matching
light engraving and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches
with automatic ejectors. Also included is a leather bound takedown case. Barrel measurements for the extra set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .733/.729 inches; choke constriction .017/.037 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.030 inches. excellent. The case exterior is excellent and the lining is good, with loose lining under the lid.
