solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with ramped beaded blade front sight, fixed rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a Weaver 2.5-1 scope on the matted solid rib which is marked “FRANZ SODIA, FERLACH”, front sling swivel, 1974 dated Austrian proofs, and chambers with automatic
ejectors. The coin finished bolstered boxlock action displays scroll engraving surrounding game scenes depicting a pair of cape buffalo on the left and a pair of pheasant roosters in flight on the right
side. The trigger guard is inlaid was three letter initials “MMS”. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Attractively figured, multi-point checkered three- piece forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with black grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and thick rubber recoil pad. Included are three extra barrel sets: one matching numbered 24 inch .270 Winchester/.270 Winchester set with a Redfield 2 3/4x scope; one matching numbered 28 inch 20 gauge/20 gauge set choked full/full; one non-matching 23 5/8 inch .222 Remington/16 gauge set with a Weaver KV scope and full choke. Also includes a generic hard case. Length of pull 14 3/4 inches. Weight 11 lbs. with scope.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue and coin finishes with a few light handling marks and some minor discoloration in the coin finish. The wood is very fine with some dings and scratches, slight loss of varnish around the cheekpiece and toe, and sharp checkering. The scope has clear optics. The extra barrel sets are all very fine. Mechanically excellent.
