447SL Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 480675, 20 gauge, 26 13/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued Bohler steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, 2000 dated German proofs, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, chokes marked “VZ”/”1/2” (improved cylinder/ modified), import marked, and attractive scroll engraving in wedges at either breech. The coin finished, bolstered sidelock action displays beautifully cut extensive scroll engraving extending to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The gun is signed on the left lockplate “R.Weiß” for Merkel Master Engraved Ralph Weiß (Weiss). The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings, including the Deeley latch release, and straight grip stock with factory buttplate. Included is a wood and leather takedown case. Barrel and stock
measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 16.0mm (.630 inches) and
measured .629/.630 inches; choke constriction .009/.017 inches; minimum wall thickness .031/.030 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel;
14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.

Engraved and Gold Inlaid Roy Vail Retailer Marked Belgian Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 71121, 12 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with single orange fiber front sight on the concave matted solid rib which is marked “ROY VAIL WARWICK N.Y.” in gold inlay, standard Belgian proofmarks, and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished boxlock action displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a gold inlaid pheasant on the left and a gold inlaid mallard on the right. The gun features double triggers
and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Although the engraving is unsigned, it was likely carried out
by Master Engraver Roy Vail. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved coin fittings and an Anson button release as well as a straight grip stock with “DRM” in a gold inscription plate and a checkered bare
 butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.2 mm (.716 inches) and measured at .720/.721 inches; choke constriction .010/.025 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.035 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. CONDITION: Excellent as upgraded by Roy Vail, retaining 99% blue, coin, and gold finishes with limited handling evidence. There are a few dings at the toe; otherwise, the wood is very fine with scattered minor scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Factory Game Scene Engraved G. Defourny 28 Gauge Model 62 Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 10234, 28 gauge, 26 1/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, “G. DEFOURNY - SERVIN - MODEL 62 - SIEMENS MARTIN NITRO STEEL” and “MADE IN BELGIUM FOR CONTINENTAL ARMS CORPORATION, NEW-YORK” marked on the right and left respectively, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions of .011/.020 inches (modified/improved modified). The coin finished boxlock action display light scrollwork and game scenes depicting pheasants on the left, right, and underside. The gun features a single selective trigger and tang mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with blank
inscription shield and horn grip cap and buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 1 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue and 99% original coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a small scratch on the left barrel near the breech, minor discoloration in areas on the coin, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,500
