scroll engraving along the frame, barrel, under lug, and cylinder flutes. The engravings are enhanced with gold border lines along the edges of the frame, trigger guard bow, boxing the barrel embellishments, and highlighting the back of the cylinder flutes. The left side of the frame behind the recoil shield also features a gold inlaid “Rampant Colt” accented within the scroll. It is fitted with a fixed blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, along with a pair of checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. The “GAS” serial number prefix was purportedly reserved for guns produced for or on behalf of a former Colt Industries Chairman of the Board, George A. Strichman, who served in the roll from 1963 to 1984. Two other Alvin White enhanced Colt Python revolvers, serial numbers GAS-0 and GAS-00, are a part of the Autry Museum of the
American West collection.
