Attractive Custom Engraved
Winchester 20 Gauge Model
21-6 Style Double Barrel
Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 7343, 20 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish,
highly figured carved walnut stock. Blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a dual
bead sights on the matted solid rib, standard Winchester markings, light engraving
at either breech, chokes marked “MOD”/”FULL”, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The blued boxlock action displays near full coverage floral scroll engraving surrounding four game scenes in the Winchester 21-6 pattern. The left shows a setter, the right has a pointer, the
underside shows a pair of pheasants, and the trigger guard has a dog’s bust. The gun features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Outstanding, beautifully figured, fancy 21-B fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail forend with rosewood tip inlay and engraved fittings including the rotary latch release, and a pistol grip stock with engraved blued steel grip cap, heelplate, and toeplate. Includes an oak & leather takedown case with canvas cover, gold snap caps, nickel oiler, and cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .615/.616 inches; choke constriction .008/.023 inches; minimum wall thickness .022/.016 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as custom upgraded/built to current configuration, retaining 99% blue finish with minor handling marks, a light plum coloration on the forend shoe, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.

Master Nick Kusmit Signed and Game Scene Engraved Winchester Model 42 Pigeon Grade
Deluxe Slide Action Shotgun - Serial no. 144554, 410 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured in 1957 and subsequently upgraded by well-known Master Engraver Nick Kusmit. Blued barrel
with a single nickel bead sight on the matted vent rib, chamber marked 3 inches, choke marked full, and small wedges of scroll engraving at either side of the
breech. The blued receiver displays highly attractive 42-5 pattern engraving with beautiful scrollwork surrounding game scenes on either side. The left scene
depicts a pair of pointers on point as a pair of grouse flush in a field, and the right shows a pointing setter ready to flush a pair of quail. The left scene is signed in the rocks at the bottom of the scene with Nick Kusmit’s “NK” signature. “DELUXE” added to the receiver below the serial number. Highly figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with factory grip cap and buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 13 7/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 9 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as master embellished/upgraded by Nick Kusmit, retaining 98% blue finish with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Marvin L. Cole Collection.
