R. Scott Nickell “Sacagawea” Native American Bronze Statue - R. Scott Nickell bronze “Sacagawea” statue. This wonderful bronze of an Indian woman attributed as Sacagawea, a Lemhi Shoshone woman who assisted the Lewis and Clark Expedition, is attired in full Indian dress with her infant secured and strapped to
her back. She is clutching a walking stick and stepping over a log. The clothing and accessories of the statue are painted, with blue, red, and tan accents on the clothing, with only the skin left in unpainted bronze color. One of many such works by R. Scott Nickell, a Texas A&M alumni and geophysicist who initially crafted western themed bronze statues in his spare time, before becoming an artist full time. Working from historical photographs and models, Nickell typically spends a month researching for each sculpture. Includes hardwood base topped with a granite slab. The dimensions are HT: 23 1/2in. X

“From Where the Sun Now Stands” Bronze by Pershing Geiger - This tall statue of Chief Joseph (Chief of the Nez Perce) shows the standing Indian chief in full Indian attire holding a peace pipe and the other hand is folded under his robe. Chief Joseph is depicted here in full traditional Native American attire. The bronze is signed, dated 1983, and numbered “9/30” on the base. Includes information on both Chief Joseph and Pershing Geiger. Measures 8x9x27 inches and weighs
approximately 60 lbs.

R. Scott Nickell “Thunder Hawk” Native American Bronze Statue - R. Scott Nickell bronze “Thunder Hawk” statue. This wonderful bronze of an Indian chief attributed as Thunder Hawk, who was an ally of Crazy Horse and led the diversion
that resulted in the loss of Capt. William Fetterman’s 80-man command during the “Fetterman Fight” of 1866, is attired in
full Indian dress with war bonnet. He is clutching a Springfield Trapdoor carbine and resting the butt on his thigh. The clothing and accessories of the statue are intricately painted, with white, blue, red, and tan accents on the clothing, with only the skin left in unpainted bronze color. One of many such works by R. Scott Nickell, a Texas A&M alumni and geophysicist who initially crafted western themed bronze statues in his spare time,
before becoming an artist full time. Working from historical photographs and models, Nickell typically spends a month researching for each sculpture. Fitted with brass plaque marked “THUNDER HAWK” and Signed “R. Scott Nickell.” Includes hardwood base topped with a granite slab. The dimensions are HT: 33 1/2in. X W: 11in. 17in.,
weight ~40lbs.

  Attractive Native American “Medicine Man” Bronze Sculpture by Mark Hopkins - This limited edition bronze cast is by the revered American sculptor,
Mark Hopkins. Apart from being an extremely skilled artist, Hopkins operates and monitors his own sculpture foundry, ensuring the integrity of his work. His sculptures present unique visions of a wide variety of subject matter, from nature, to sports, to music, to religion, to humans and emotion. This example is numbered 29 out of
a casting run of only 750 on the base, where the artists signature and 1992 copyright are also visible. The piece shows a Native American medicine man wearing a feathered headband and wrapped in a bear pelt. The medicine man has a bear’s skull in his outstretched arm as if to invoke
the spirit of the bear. The sculpture measures approximately 13 3/4
inches tall and approximately 10 inches wide at the widest point. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, showing an attractively aged patina overall with some scattered very light verdigris and exceptionally crisp detail. A fantastic sculpture for a desk or small display!
