Rare Smith & Wesson K-32 Masterpiece (Pre-Model 16) Double Action Revolver with Gold Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. K221892, 32 S&W Long cal., 6 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This is one of only 3,630 K-32 Masterpiece (Model 16) revolvers S&W manufactured over a 26 year period starting in 1947. It is the rarest of the standard K-Masterpiece series. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on June 22, 1955 and delivered to Rose, Kimball & Baxter Co. of Elmira, New York with a 6 inch barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut grips. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and barrel. Comes with the original S&W gold box numbered to the gun. Very rare late production 5-screw frame with wide barrel rib.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with a faint cylinder drag line, slight wear at the muzzle and limited handling marks. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. The box is fine. Mechanically excellent.

Smith & Wesson .38/44 Heavy Duty (Pre- War) Double Action Revolver with Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. 48236, 38 S&W special cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. The accompanying factory
letter states the revolver was on August 5,
1936 and delivered to Powell & Clement Co.
of Cincinnati, Ohio with a 5 inch barrel, blue
finish, and checkered walnut grips. This was a
two gun shipment and billed at $23.33 each.
The right grip panel is renumbered to the
gun. Matching serial numbers appear on the
butt, cylinder, and ejector shroud. With a correct model
S&W blue box. These types of boxes were used from 1935-1940.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with very faint freckling on the sideplate and a light cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is
very good.

grips. Manufactured between 1956
and 1957. Matching serial numbers
on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. Five-
screw frame with six-groove back
strap. Standard markings and features
including red ramp blade front and
white outline notched tangent rear
sights, with casehardened wide spur
hammer and trigger shoe. Fitted with
checkered walnut grips with silver
Smith & Wesson medallions. Includes
a black leatherette Smith & Wesson
case marked “44 MAGNUM.”
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% of original blue finish with light
handling marks, edge wear and cylinder drag line. The left grip panel has a chip in the back, with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The exterior of the case is very good with tattered corners, and the interior is fine with slight tears.

solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured from 1925 to 1936.
Patridge blade front and adjustable
square notch rear sights, with the
one-line address on the rib, “SMITH
& WESSON” on the left side, and the
caliber marking on the right. Fitted
with smooth S&W medallion grips.
Includes original blued steel case, two-
piece cleaning rod, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent, with over 95% of original blue finish retained, very light edge wear, and cycling wear between the barrel and frame halves. The walnut grips are very good, with light scuff and scratches, most noticeably on the left side panel. Mechanically excellent. The included blued factory case is fine, with light spotting and handling wear on exterior surfaces. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Outdoorsman Transition (Post-War
Transitional) Double Action Revolver
with Box - Serial no. S69844, 38 S&W
special cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1946 as one of just over 2,300 total
produced in 1946-1949 and falling in the S62940-S75000 serial number range. Rare checkered rib barrel variation utilizing leftover pre-war Registered Magnum barrel. These are only found in the S69000 serial number range and no more than a small few are known to collectors today. Matching serial numbers on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and ejector shroud. Comes with the original S&W box numbered to the gun.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with muzzle wear and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with repairable spit lid corners. Provenance: The Dave Ballantyne Collection.
