Attractive Cased Exhibition Quality Game Panel Scene Relief Engraved and Gold Inlaid Fred Adolf Genoa NY Marked 20 Gauge Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun with Automatic Ejectors
- NSN, 20 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Originally built in Germany and imported for embellishment
and retail by Fred Adolf of Genoa, NY. Blued Krupp steel barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the matted solid rib, bands of engraving at either breech, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened sideclipped boxlock action displays attractive leafy scroll relief engraving surrounding a fox and mallards on the left, a pointer and a hare on the right, and a cawing capercallie on the underside along with “FRED ADOLF” on the left and “GENOA N.Y” on the right. The trigger guard displays a gold inlaid monogram “WSB”. The gun features cocking indicators, a single selective trigger, and a manual tang safety with gold “S” marking. Attractively figured, checkered and carved splinter forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, intricate carving at the pistol grip, engraved casehardened grip cap, internal retractable leather sling, and engraved steel buttplate. Includes an oak and leather takedown case, cleaning tools, and information on Fred Adolf. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .631/.630 inches; choke constriction .033/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.030 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 11/16 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish, 30% original case colors with the balance a fine silver/gray, some rubbing and thinning on the barrels, areas of light spotting, a chip from the front left of the forend, some dings and scratches in the wood, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is good. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,500

Factory Engraved Walther 16 Gauge Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 384, 16 gauge, 28 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued Krupp-Laufstahl barrels with dual bead sights on the matted solid rib, bands of engraving at either breech, 1933 dated German proofs, choke constrictions of .021/.020 inches; chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with a single extractor. The casehardened scalloped boxlock action displays attractive tight scrollwork and deep cut scroll carved fences and features double triggers, cocking indicators, and an automatic tang safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and a hard rubber factory buttplate.
Includes a leather sling. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 7/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish, 50% original case colors with the balance a fine grey, areas of minor blue fading, and overall minor handling marks. The wood is very fine with a few minor marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 3431 Factory Game Scene Engraved Oskar Merkel Drilling with Scope - Serial no. 4358., 16/8x57 gauge, 25 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued Krupp Laufstahl barrels with beaded blade front and flip-up rear sights on the matted solid rib which also features claw mounts holding a Redfield 1-4x scope, shotgun chambers marked 2 3/4 inches, and choke constrictions of .034/.034. The coin finished sideclipped sideplated action displays a red stag and hind on the left spooking a hare and a roe buck with doe on the right along with a mallard, and the scenes are
surrounded by scrollwork. The gun features double triggers (front is a single set), bushed shotgun firing pins, tang mounted selector, and Greener style safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece and horn grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull 14 1/8 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 11 oz. (scope included). CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 97% original blue and coin finishes with light handling evidence, some slight areas of discoloration in the coin, a few pressure marks on the left of the wrist,
    and sharp checking on the wood. Scope has clear optics. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,400 - 2,250

steel barrels with a single bead sight on the matted solid rib, dual bands of engraving at the breech, period German proofs, choke constrictions
of .015/.030 inches, and chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with extractor. The casehardened sideclipped boxlock action displays scroll engraving with “CHARLES
DALY” on either side and features dual triggers, cocking indicators, and tang safety. Attractively figured, multi-
point checkered splinter forend with horn tip inlay and engraved fittings, and round knob pistol grip stock
with blank inscription oval and horn buttplate. Includes a more recent oak and leather case with canvas cover,
nickel snap caps, nickel oiler, and cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% reapplied blue finish, 80% plus original case colors, scattered areas of spotting, and light handling
marks. The wood is fine with a few small edge chips, ding in the left of the forend, and overall crisp checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000
