Cased London Agency Shipped Early Production Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver with Ejector - Serial no. 1898, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1871 with standard features. The top
of the barrel has
the two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses, British proofs on the barrel and cylinder, and matching numbers on the barrel and butt, while the interior of the grip panels appear to be inked with the number “1998”, which may be a factory error. Includes a hardwood case with Colt London Agency interior label, cleaning rod, and key.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original nickel plating with a few scattered areas of minor flaking, revealing mostly a smooth grey patina. The grips are fine with a few scattered minor handling marks and retaining much of the crazed original varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine overall with some mild handling/storage wear.

Attractive London Agency Cased Engraved Colt Third Model “Thuer”
Deringer with Pearl Grips - Serial no. 20362, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round
bbl., silver/gold finish, pearl grips. These deringers were introduced in 1870
and totaled around 48,000 produced. This deringer has gorgeous factory
quality London period retailer applied engraving on over half of the metal
surfaces consisting mainly of highly detailed scrollwork with punched
backgrounds along with some border motifs. It is likely the engraving was
executed in Britain by a skilled artisan or the retailer. The top of the barrel
has a rounded blade front sight and “COLT” in large italic letters and the
bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. It is fitted with a pair of smooth
pearl grips. Includes an oak case with a Colt London Agency marked label
on the inside of the lid, a key, and seven .41 RF cartridges in the block.
CONDITION: Very good, the barrel showing mostly a bright grey patina and
half of the period applied gold plating remaining on the hammer with the
balance an attractively aged brass and crisp engraving overall. There is a
patch of wood filler visible on the butt of the left grip panel and the grips
are otherwise very fine with minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with minimal handling/storage wear. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500

Cased London Agency Shipped Colt Etched Panel New
House Model .38 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 16221,
38 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips.
One of approximately 4,000 manufactured from 1880 to 1886,
with this example produced in 1883. The top of the barrel has
the two-line address, and the “COLT HOUSE 38” etched panel is on the left. There are British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. It has standard features and the serial number is marked on the butt. Includes a leather wrapped hard case, cleaning rod/screwdriver, and five Kynoch .380 CF cartridges. CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% of the original high polish blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey-brown patina and a few scattered small patches of light pitting. Exceptionally fine original acid etched panel on the barrel. The grips are also fine with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear, primarily on edges and corners, and a white paint-like stain on the lid.

Cased Pair of London Proofed Colt Third Model “Thuer” Deringers -A) Colt Third Model Deringer - Serial no. 7924, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2
inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. These deringers
were introduced in 1870 and totaled around 48,000 produced,
with both of these being the second type with the more
gently sloped hammers. Both are marked “-COLT-” in italics on
the tops of the barrels and British proofs on the bottoms, the
serial numbers on the left of the grip frame underneath the
grips, and the caliber marking on the left of the frames. The
left of the frame on the “B” gun also has a “C” and Rampant Colt
and the back strap of the “A” gun is stamped with the serial
number. Both are fitted with smooth hardwood grips. Includes a
leather wrapped hard case fitted for both deringers, four .41 RF
cartridges, and a cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the period, likely retailer,
applied nickel finish with the balance having thinned to either a
smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are very
good with some scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some mild wear, mostly on the corners. B) Colt Third Model Deringer - Serial no. 36723, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. See “A”.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the period, likely retailer, applied nickel finish with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are also fine with some light wear, some scattered light handling marks, and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.

in 1880. The top of the barrel
has the two-line address, the
left side has the etched panel
marked “COLT NEW 32”, and the
bottom has “S” and two British proofs. The cylinder is also marked with British proofs. The back strap is inscribed “WATSON & HANCOCK./308. HIGH HOLBORN. LONDON. WC.” The serial number is marked on the butt. Includes a fitted leather wrapped case with interior lining of the lid marked for “WATSON & SONS/GUNMAKERS/308, HIGH HOLBORN/LONDON.W.”
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% of the retailer applied nickel finish with the balance mostly a bright grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are very good with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear, mostly on the corners.
