World War II U.S. Union Switch & Signal Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster - Serial no. 1069521, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., Dulite finish, plastic grips. In May of 1942 the U.S. government initially placed an order with Union Switch & Signal Co. for 200,000 Model 1911A1 pistols, an order which was later revised to 55,000 pistols. This pistol was likely manufactured early to mid-1943. The slide is marked with the “USS” monogram and “U.S. & S. CO./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.” on the left side, with a Robert Downie “R.C.D.” on the left of the frame, and standard U.S. government nomenclature on the right. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, thin checkered hammer, short stamped trigger, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing with lanyard loop, reinforced checkered grips, full blue unmarked magazine, and a full blue barrel marked “HS” and “P” on the lug. Includes a “US” marked “1917” dated Hoyt leather holster. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the original Dulite finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, most noticeably on the grip straps and edges. The replacement grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with some mild wear and some verdigris on the brass components. Provenance: The Mel Raucher Collection. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,500

World War II U.S. Remington-Rand Model
1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol Rig with Holster and Belt - Serial no. 1438564, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1943,
at the height of World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the standard two-line
Remington-Rand address and a “P” on top. The left side of the frame has the “FJA” inspection mark, “3” on the trigger guard, and “P” below the magazine release. The standard U.S. property, serial number, and model designation are marked on the right side, with “Z” twice on the trigger guard.
The full blue barrel is marked “HS” and “P” on the lug. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, serrated slide release, checkered thumb safety and narrow hammer, short stamped trigger, serrated mainspring
housing, checkered Keyes Fiber grips, and an “R” and “C-R” marked full blue magazine. Includes a U.S. “1944” dated Milwaukee Saddlery Co. leather holster and a “NASCO/1943” canvas belt. CONDITION: Excellent plus as issued, retains 99% plus of the original parkerized finish with some storage grease residue and a few scattered light handling
marks. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster and belt are very fine with some light wear. Provenance: The Mel Raucher Collection. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500

Very Fine U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1911
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 115451, 45 ACP cal.,
5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Produced
in 1915 as part of the third serial number block reserved for the Springfield Armory.
Blade front and flat top notch rear sights The two-block Colt patent and Springfield address
markings are on the left side of the slide ahead of the ordnance bomb symbol. The eagle with
shield motif and “MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY.” are on the right. The ordnance bomb is repeated
on the frame with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” ahead of the slide stop and the serial number on the right.
The full blued barrel is marked “S” on the left of the lug. Fitted with a wide knurled hammer, short grip safety, long trigger, flat mainspring housing and lanyard staples on the housing and correct
Springfield produced loop magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned
to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the grip straps and in the form of mild holster time wear. The grips are also very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches, and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
