Excellent Saco Defense Inc. M60 General Purpose Machine Gun with Mount and Accessories, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable - Serial no. 216159, 7.62 mm Nato cal., 25 3/4 inch round bbl., matte black finish, synthetic stock. This is an excellent example of the M60 belt fed machine gun as manufactured by the SACO Defense Division of the Maremont Co. Developed
in the late 1950s, the M60 was designed as a general-purpose machine gun (GPMG), a single weapon to replace as many different .30 caliber machine guns in the Army inventory as possible. The M60 was deployed as the primary infantry machine gun during the Vietnam War, along with a variety of air, ground, and water vehicle mountings. While other designs started to fill the infantry niche from the 80s onward, the M60 is still a frontline automatic weapon with American and allied armed forces. The receiver trunnion is fitted with the quick release hardware for
the barrel, manufacturer’s marks, serial number and folding ladder rear sight. Fitted with a ventilated barrel shroud and ribbed synthetic forearm, pistol grip, and buttstock with a flip-up shoulder rest. Includes a black painted custom mount
that measures approximately 46 inches tall with a 26x26 inch bare metal square base. Also includes two barrel assemblies in total ( both equipped with a fixed blade front sight, elongated bird cage flash hider and swiveling bipod), matching hand numbered Saco shipping box, canvas barrel carrying case, left handed mitten, green metal ammunition box and two cleaning/ tool kits with manuals.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% original matte black finish with some light handling marks. The synthetic furniture is
also excellent. Mechanically excellent. Included mount is also excellent. This excellent Saco M60 would be very difficult to improve upon. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. Provenance: The Al Walker Collection.
Estimate: 60,000 - 90,000
