Blued steel barrels single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, standard markings, 2005 dated German proofs, flourishes of scroll at either breech, and 76mm (3 inch) chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished scalloped action
displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a pair of woodcock in a field on the left and a trio of grouse in a field on the right. The left side is signed “S.P.” for factory Master Engraver Suzanne Patheo. The gun features bushed firing pins, a double triggers, and tang mounted
automatic safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with factory buttplate. Includes the original box. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 16.0mm (.630 inches) and measured .629/.630 inches; choke constriction .008/.016 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.027 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, limited handling evidence, some discoloration on the top rib toward the muzzle, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Factory Master Game Scene Engraved Gunter Richter Signed Merkel 20 Gauge 147E Double Barrel Shotgun with Box and Case - Serial no. 382752, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1999. Blued Krupp-Stahl barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib which is marked “147E 20 Ga”, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors,
and choke constrictions of .009/.018 inches. The scalloped, sideclipped
boxlock action features a trio of quail on the left and right, all surrounded by floral scroll engraving, double triggers, bushed firing pins, and an automatic tang mounted safety. The action is signed on the left side with a “G.R.” for Master Engraver Gunter Richter. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with
engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with Merkel buttplate. Includes original box and a factory leather bound takedown case. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent.
