Very Fine Colt First Generation Single Action Army
Revolver - Serial no. 355843, 45 LC cal., 5 1/2 inch round
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in
1937. This revolver features blade front and fixed notch rear sights.
The barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45” on the left
and “COLT’S PT.F.MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” on the top. The left side of the frame is
marked with the two line, three date patent marking ahead of a Rampant Colt. The last two
digits of the serial number, “43”, is found on the rear face of the cylinder. Fitted with a set
of checkered hard rubber grips with the rampant colt in an oval at the top of either panel.
Includes a modern custom replacement Colt display case fitted for a shorter barrel SAA.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% original blue finish and 70% case colors with a light artificially applied
grey patina on the grip straps, some light muzzle wear, and a few light scratches. Grips are very fine as well with softened checkering and a chip at the toe of the left panel, some light dings on the lower edge, and an attractive brown coloration. Case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.

Documented Factory Presentation Colt Pre-War/Post-
War Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter
- Serial no. 357508, 38 Special cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. Having its serial number factory
applied in 1940, this is an example of a scarce pre-
World War II Colt Single Action Army revolver that
was later assembled and finished after the war and
kept at the factory. The pre-war/post-war SAAs are
found in the 356,000 and 357,000 serial number
range, many were used by Colt for advertising and
public relations purposes, and they have been
thoroughly discussed in several of the Colt Single
Action books. The accompanying factory letter
confirms the 5 1/2 inch barrel in .38 Special and
blue finish (type of stocks not listed). The letter
also states the revolver was shipped on November
6, 1952 to Colt President Graham Anthony for presentation to Theodore Nelson, Jr., “The Boulders,” Upton, Massachusetts. Both grip panels are numbered to a different gun. Matching serial number on frame, trigger guard and back strap.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% plus original blue finish with thinning to gray on the balance and cylinder drag lines. The frame retains 80% original case colors. The grips are also fine with some fading, wear along the top of the checkering, and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

housing retain 85% original blue finish with some
holster type wear. The replacement cylinder retains
90% plus original blue finish. The grip straps retain 85% original blue finish with thinning on the balance. 95% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and frame. The replacement grips are also very fine with some minor handling marks, a few typical age lines and
attractive color and grain. Mechanically
excellent.

Single Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 355266, 38
Special cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1935. The barrel
has the one-line Hartford address and “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY
.38 SPECIAL.” The frame has the two-line patent dates followed by a
Rampant Colt. The trigger guard has the Colt factory triangle proof and
number “3.” Serial number on both grip panels has been removed. Matching serial
numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% original blue finish with scattered light specks of surface oxidation on the grip straps and a couple patches of gray on the barrel. The frame retains 95% plus vivid original case colors. The replacement grips are very fine with a few minor handling

LC cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
smooth grips. Manufactured in 1926. The barrel is marked “45
COLT” on the left side and has the one-line Hartford address on top.
The left side of the casehardened frame has the two-line patent dates
marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left side of the trigger guard
is stamped with a Colt factory triangle proof, the number “3” and the letter
“X.” The front cylinder face is stamped with the letter “J”, and the rear cylinder face is stamped with the number “10.” Matching assembly number “932” is stamped on the loading gate and rear of the frame. Both period replacement silver Rampant Colt medallion grip panels are numbered “348810” in pencil. Matching serial numbers are on the frame and trigger guard
