CONDITION: Fine with distinct Damascus twist patterns, mix of fading brown finish and brown patina, and moderate oxidation and pitting on the barrels; 25% plus original case colors, 30% original blue finish on the trigger guard and buttplate, and aged patina on the silver. The stock is also fine and has distinct checkering, some general light dings and scratches throughout, empty rear swivel hole, and minor cracks at the breech. Mechanically fine. LOT 1305 Rare Engraved Scottish D. Scott Double Barrel Flintlock Shotgun - NSN, 24 gauge, 28 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., brown/casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. David Scott is listed as a gunmaker in
Edinburgh, Scotland, in the early 19th century at least as early as 1805. In the 1830s, he is listed at No. 7 Hay Street. This rare flintlock double barrel shotgun is signed “D. SCOTT EDINR” on the rib and “D. SCOTT” on the locks and features a bead front sight, silver wedge and wrist escutcheons, a mix of border, floral, martial, and burst engraving; rainproof pans, frizzen spring rollers, and a half-length stock with a smooth forend, checkered wrist, and 14 inch length of pull. CONDITION: Fine with 75% plus of an older rebrowned finish on the barrels, aged patina on the silver, mostly dark brown patina on
the balance, patches of mild oxidation and pitting, and general mild overall wear. The refinished stock has mostly crisp checkering,
some small chips at the edges, mild dings and scratches, a few filled spots, and a crack to the left of the triggers. Mechanically fine. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500

Engraved, Relief Carved, and Gold Accented Elling of Bamberg Percussion Double Barrel Shotgun - NSN, 20 gauge, 30 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. The
barrels and rib have elaborate pattern welded “Damascus” patterns, and the rib has a bead front sight and “*ELLING IN BAMBERG*” in gold. The right lock is signed “ELLING.” in silver, and the left lock has “A BAMBERG” in silver. The locks and furniture have floral and border engraving. The stock has chevron pattern “checkering” in panels on the forend and wrist, raised relief floral carving around the barrel tang followed by a blank gold escutcheon, a raised relief carved stag with oak leaves on the bottom of the wrist, and raised leaf carving behind the cheek rest. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 13 3⁄4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 4 oz.

Rare and Desirable Royal Pair of Engraved Henry Tatham Jr. “Waterproof Trigger Lock” Double Barrel Percussion Shotguns Made for Ernst August (1771-1851), Prince of Great Britain and Ireland, Duke of
Cumberland and Teviotdale, King of Hanover -A) Tatham Shotgun - NSN, 16 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., brown/ casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured c. 1830, these royal guns were made by Henry Tatham Jr. and are engraved with the “24 Pall Mall, London” address which he is recorded at from 1825 until 1834. With signed browned Damascus barrels and engraved casehardened breeches each with platinum line and pierced platinum plug. Trigger plate actions with side hammers fitted to the underside of the stocks, signed within scrolls, incorporating the trigger guards and with German silver borders. Figured walnut semi-pistol grip, half-length stocks with checkered grips and
forends. The grips are inset with a silver roundel engraved with a flower head, and the forends have engraved silver caps. The stocks have gilt brass oval initial escutcheons engraved with the crowned royal cypher “EA”. With original brass-tipped ramrods. The barrels are struck with London proof marks.
CONDITION: Fine with distinct patterns throughout, bright original gold, deep aged patina
on the silver markings on the lock, light original case colors, mostly smooth gray patina on
the balance, and minor overall wear. The stock is very good and has crisp carving, minor dings and scratches, and smooth oil finish. Mechanically fine. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection. Estimate: 1,500 - 2,500
