21-4 Pattern Engraved Winchester .410 Bore/28 Gauge Model 21 Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial
no. 32386, 28 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, fancy walnut stock. Blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a single red bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, single band of engraving at either breech, “1” marked on the forend lug, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “IMP. CYL.”/”MOD.” The blued action displays Winchester 21-4 pattern engraving consisting of floral scroll surrounding a pair of mallards on the left, a pair of grouse on the right, and a pair of setters on the underside. The gun features a single selective gold trigger and tang mounted safety switch. Beautifully figured, fancy checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings, “1” on the underside, and ebony
tip inlay and straight grip stock with engraved blue skeleton buttplate and
checkered butt. Included is a second 26 inch barrel set in 28 gauge with
matching serial number and engraving, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors,
chokes marked “IMP.CYL.”/”MOD.”, “2” on the forend lug, and matching beavertail forend with “2” on the underside. Included is a Winchester leather bound takedown case with canvas cover and cleaning tools. Barrel measurements for the 28 gauge set (R/L): bore
diameter nine inches from the breech .549/.549 inches; choke constriction .006/.010 inches. Barrel and stock measurements for the .410 bore set (R/L): choke constriction .001/.003 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 13 7/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as custom embellished, retaining 99% plus blue finish with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case and extra barrel set are also excellent. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

Excellent Winchester Deluxe Model 42 Slide Action Skeet Shotgun -
Serial no. 69754, 410 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1948. Single steel bead sight on the matted solid rib, standard
markings, 2 1/2 inch chamber, and choke marked skeet. Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend and fancy figured pistol grip stock with Winchester plastic checkered buttplate. Stock measurements: drop at the comb 1 7/16 inches; drop at the heel 2 1/4 inches,
length of pull 14 inches; weight 6 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with
some slide retraction wear visible and otherwise minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered dings, white residue on the buttplate, and scratches and sharp original checkering. Mechanically excellent.
