A set of guns custom built for Ulrich with similar engraving are pictured on page 322 of Ned Schwing’s “Winchesters Finest: The Model 21” in which it is stated that Nick Kusmit carried out the engraving on that set. The previous and following lot are numbered in sequence to this gun. Barrel measurements for the .410 bore set (R/L): choke constriction .001/.008 inches. Barrel and stock measurements primary set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .544/.545 inches; choke constriction .008/.017 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as custom embellished, retaining 99% plus blue and gold finishes, limited handling evidence, a pair of varnish blemishes at the comb,
and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel set has some oil staining at the muzzles, otherwise it is excellent. The case and accessories are also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
