MX8-20 Over/Under Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case
- Serial no. P.U.97808, 28 gauge, 26 3/4 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, 2003 dated Italian proofs, interchangeable chokes (skeet/modified installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued action shows geometric engraving at the pivot pins and the toplever and features a single gold trigger and tang mounted manual safety. Nicely contrasting, multi-point
checkered Schnabel forend and pistol grip stock with leather faced rubber recoil pad. Includes an extra set of 28 3/8 inch 20 gauge barrels numbered “97809” and featuring its own forend, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and interchangeable chokes (light modified/modified
installed). Also includes a factory takedown case, extra mainsprings, four extra 20 gauge chokes (skeet, improved cylinder, improved
modified, and full), and four extra 28 gauge chokes (improved cylinder, light modified, improved modified, and full). Barrel measurements for the
extra set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 16.0mm (.630 inches) and measured .628/.630 inches; minimum wall thickness .034/.036 inches. Barrel and stock measurements for the primary set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 13.8mm (.543 inches) and both measured .547 inches; minimum wall thickness .041/.041 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with very minimal handling evidence mostly on the wood and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel set is also excellent with a slight rub ahead of the forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000
Blued steel barrels featuring single steel bead sight on the matted vent rib with standard Bertuzzi markings with “Bertuzzi” inlaid in gold chambers proofed at 70 mm (2 3/4 inches)
with automatic ejectors, and choke tube system (modified/ improved modified installed). The coin sideplate action
is engraved with floral scroll motifs around several gold inlays depicting a bust of Chuck Yeager, the Bell X-1 on the left with “14 OCT 1947” inlaid on a ribbon on the left sideplate and thirteen stars around an Air Force insignia and P-51D Mustang with “YEAGER” on a ribbon, as well as two martial eagles on the underside and “35/100” on the triggerguard. The left sideplate and triggerplate are signed “G. Steduto” for the famed Italian Master Engraver Giovanelli Steduto. Mounted in a wonderfully contrasted and lightly figured, multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip
stock with checkered bare butt. Includes a leather bound takedown case with maker and model label on the interior of the lid and three
choke tubes. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .722/.721 inches; minimum wall thickness .026/.024 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 10 oz.

Giovanni Steduto Signed Master Engraved and Gold Inlaid Bertuzzi Chuck Yeager Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 035, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock.
      CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with scratches and a patch of light pitting on the barrel. The action has some scattered handling marks and light spotting overall with crisp engraving. Wood is excellent with limited handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good with storage and handling marks and flaking of the leather and straps. Estimate: 5,000 - 8,000
 LOT 3531 Factory Engraved Perazzi Model MX8 Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 127511, 12 gauge, 32 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard markings, 2003 dated Italian proofs, interchangeable chokes (“8”/”9” installed), and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued action features a single geometric floral pattern on either side and on the toplever, “Perazzi MX8” on the left, a single selective trigger, and tang mounted safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with rubber recoil pad. Includes a factory takedown case, extra springs and firing pins, stock removal tool, two snap caps, and five extra chokes (0, 0, 2, 4, and 10). Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.4 mm (.724 inches) and measured .729/.728 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.034 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs 6 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with minimal handling evidence and high edge wear on the triggerguard. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches and sharp checkering overall, Mechanically excellent.
