CONDITION: Both
boxes are fine to very fine, with mild wear concentrated on the edges. Contents are uninspected
due to plastic wrap seals. 1) Seal has been broken. 2) Seal is intact on one long edge, cut at the
seam on the other three. The perfect display pieces for your Colt Thunderers.

Documented Factory
Engraved Colt Model 1877 Thunderer Double Action Revolver with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 119900, 41 Long Colt cal., 4 1/2 inch round
bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. The accompanying factory letter states
this revolver was shipped in a 2 gun shipment on September 12, 1900, to J.F.
Schmelzer & Sons Arms Company in Kansas City, Kansas, and confirms its current
configuration as factory engraved in .41 caliber, with a 4 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish,
and type of grips not listed. This revolver features highly desirable factory engraving,
decorated in a floral scroll pattern on beaded backgrounds along with some zig-zag
line and dot patterns, and a blank presentation inscription panel on the back strap. The
engraving is consistent with patterns used by Colt Master Engraver Cuno Helfricht and
his shop. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address, with “COLT.
D.A. 41” on the left of the barrel. Blade front sight, groove top strap rear sight. The left of the
frame has three-line patent date markings and circled Rampant Colt trademark. Matching
visible full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, with matching “900”
on the rear of the cylinder, and assembly number “803” on the loading gate.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% original blue finish, dark muted original case colors, with
smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, and highly attractive crisp engraving
overall. Grips are fine, with tight fitment, some minor lower edge wear, and defined
designs. Mechanically excellent. An attractive factory engraved Colt Model
1877 Thunderer revolver!

Sheriff Marked
Badge - Manufactured c.
the early 20th century, this
is an attractive law enforcement
badge showing one of the more iconic shapes through history,
the circled five-pointed star, a shape that remains in use today
among the U.S. Marshals and Texas Rangers. The star at the center
of this badge is stamped with flourishes of floral scroll, while
the circle around it is marked “W.T. ADAMS/DEPUTY SHERIFF”.
“The Morning Herald” newspaper from Durham, North Carolina
in November of 1904 lists a W.T. Adams as a deputy sheriff of
Johnston County, who may be the original owner of this badge. A
simple pin is soldered on the back of the badge.
CONDITION: Fine, with most of the nickel silver remaining bright, a
few scattered patches of darker patina, and well-defined markings
and text throughout.

Documented Austin, Texas, Shipped Colt First
Generation Single Action Army Revolver in .41 Long
Colt with Factory Letter - Serial no. 291195, 41 Long Colt
cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard
rubber grips. The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver
as shipped in a 10 gun shipment on March 28, 1907, to merchant Walter
Tips in Austin, Texas, in .41 caliber, with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, blue finish, and
type of grips not listed. Walter Tips (1841-1911) was a prosperous hardware
merchant located in Austin, Texas, where historical markers still stand
where his house and Walter Tips Company hardware store were located.
Two-line Hartford address on top of the barrel, “41 COLT” caliber marking
on the left of the barrel. Matching visible serial numbers on the frame,
trigger guard, and back strap, with unnumbered cylinder, and correct
period checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt logos at the tops,
renumbered to match on the interiors with previous numbers crossed out.
Assembly number “1585” on the loading gate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 75% original blue finish with smooth brown
patina on the balance, 80% vibrant original case colors, and distinct
markings in the metal. Grips are very fine, with minimal handling marks,
and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
